I am constantly surprised by the local talent in San Luis Obispo county. Tyson Leonard and I started our first band when we were twelve, armed with what equipment we could piece together from the thrift story my mom worked at and instruments paid for with summer job money. With access to amazing technology, cheap, it is not surprising that so many young people are becoming far more proficient as musicians and songwriters than we were during those teen years. Keep your eyes and ears open for folks playing near you. Supporting the arts is an amazing way to get involved with your community and show your local troubadours you care.
