Let Us Fill You In...

A lot has happened since our last blog in 2013. So, let us fill you in on just the key events.

June 2013: Nygil Hoch, Jeff Rose and Alan D'Angelo join PT and play their first show featuring the new line-up at “Warriors of Metal Open-Air Festival VI” in Pataskala, Ohio on June 29.

October 2013: PT goes on tour supporting SEVEN WITCHES and VICIOUS RUMORS playing cities all across the United States east coast including New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Charleston, Atlanta, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.

November 2013: PT plays in Wilmington, Delaware at JB McGinnes on November 9 as direct support for legendary NWOBHM act, RAVEN!

January 2014: Long time PT drummer Lorin Savadove amicably parts ways with the band. Nick Bunzck is then called into action to fill in on drums.

March 2014: Nygil Hoch temporarily leaves PT and goes on hiatus.

Summer 2014: PT performs at Ragnarökkr Metal Apocalypse in Chicago, Illinois on April 9 and continues without Nygil for a string of live shows in the local Philadelphia area and maintains songwriting sessions for "Driven By Fear".

October 2014: Nygil re-joins PT and is welcomed back after a kick ass show at “SavFest II USA” held at The Legendary Dobbs on October 18.

November 2014: PT opens up for RAVEN yet again. This time at The Legendary Dobbs on November 22.

December 2014 - March 2015 PT took some down time to finalize the recording process of "Driven By Fear”. Nick Bunzck lays down a dynamite performance on the drums in the course of only two days at TTR Studios. “BB” takes care of the rhythm guitar tracking with Carlos Alvarez of Dirty Viking Audio Production. Afterwards, Nygil completes all of his solos in just a few hours and then Alan brings the low-end to a high standard. Last but not least, Jeff brings forth his best effort to the vocal sessions and we are all VERY pleased with his performance!

April 2015: PT drives hundreds of miles to play shows in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Columbus/Akron, Ohio. Co-headlining with Pure Steel label-mates WRETCH for two great nights of metal!

May 2015: All the way from Budapest, Hungary comes drum-master Márton Veress (Pokolgép, Armageddon) to fill in for Nick Bunzck as he is very busy for the time being… Márton made an immediate connection with the chemistry in PT and rehearsed only once with the band before they flew down to play three headlining shows in Orlando, Melbourne and Tampa, Florida at The Haven, Boondocks and The Brass Mug, respectively. Back home in Philadelphia on May 30, PT played at “Metal for Mikki” to help support the charity event and raise awareness for RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy).

June 2015: Traveling as usual, PT plays in Providence, Rhode Island at Firehouse 13 on June 6 and in Queens, New York at Blackthorn 51 the very next day. June 8 was a great day for PT as they made public their latest single titled “Cut and Run” on Reverbnation! June 13 at Bull Shooters Saloon in Northeast Philadelphia saw PT open up as direct support for Release at their final show and it was a blast for everyone!

Some great stuff going on in the Power Theory camp and we will do our very best to keep our fans in the loop! Stay tuned \m/ \m/

Power Theory Line-Up Update

Power Theory would like to announce that Drew Foster will be stepping back in his role as bassist due to constraints and commitments of his job. Drew will always be a member of the Power Theory family and available to fill in for shows if the need arised, and continue to work on a side project with guitarist BB Ballinger. "We are also very pleased to announce Alan D`Angelo (Livesay, ex Sleepy Hollow) will be taking over duties as Power Theory bassist for Warriors of Metal IV - Open Air and the fall "Metal Masters Tour " with Vicious Rumors, Leather Wolf, Seven Witches, and Power Theory`s support role starting 10/03/13 in our home town, Philadelphia, and the forthcoming "Driven By Fear" final recording sessions. Alan is a kick ass bass player and has great stage presence."

"Unfortunately we will have to cancel our 6/22/13 date with label mates Widow and good friends Infernal Opera at Mojo 13 in Wilmington, Delaware to prepare with Alan for our Warriors of Metal IV set in Ohio, on 6/29/13, but will attend to support the bands, and rest assured we will be in top form for our scheduled set at WOM IV.", said BB.
