PRESS REVIEW ON FLORIDA SHOW 11/9/07

CHECK OUT THIS ROCKIN PRESS REVIEW WRITTEN BY OUR GOOD FRIEND AND FREELANCE JOURNALIST, RITA, AKA "ROCKINRITA," WHO CAPTURED ALL THE MAGIC OF THE SHOW THIS PAST WEEKEND!! IF YOU WEREN'T THERE, HERE'S WHAT YOU MISSED... AND IF YOU WERE THERE...RELIVE IT! FRAN COSMO with SPECIAL GUEST BARRY GOUDREAU VINOY PARK On the waterfront St. Petersburg, Florida Friday, November 9, 2007 A slow trickle of people flowed into Vinoy Park’s annual Ribfest, on a cloudless day. Those who were there early enough, could see Fran Cosmo himself doing sound check on the large stage, which was flanked by towering speakers and an enormous screen nearby. As the sun began to set, and a chill hit from a northern wind, 13,000 rock fans descended onto the green. From the first notes of a biting guitar riff by Anthony Cosmo, thundering bass from Bill Carman and pounding beat of drummer Pat Orlowski, singer Fran Cosmo launched into Alien, off the 2006 release ALIEN. The band had a camera on them for the big screen and plenty of good lighting. Anthony, a left-handed guitarist, did a solo that ranks him among the greats, leading into a good seven minute jam of "Can’t Run Away," another COSMO tune. Then came an epic Boston song "Walk On." There is no doubt to why Fran Cosmo was singer for SuperGroup Boston. With his amazing vocal range, and sustaining the high notes needed in many of Bostons numbers, you get lost in the power of the songs through his singing. To lots of applause and screaming came the introduction of special guest Barry Goudreau, former guitarist of Boston, who last played live with Fran over twenty years ago. The crowd was psyched up hearing the familiar guitar riff of "Rock & Roll Band" and happily sang along. This led to the powerful song "Cool The Engines" and the rousing "Something About You." An extended version of "Foreplay/Long Time" was brought in with awesome keyboard work by special guest Gary Johnson who also joined in on singing and rhythm guitar. You’ve just never heard a more satisfied group of thousands, once again turning the song into one gigantic sing-a-long. A two minute drum solo, that put you in the mode of the arena rock show, preceded "Peace of Mind" with Barry making his Gibson sing and Fran’s singing doing Brad justice. All the guys cut loose on "Smokin," interacting with each other and the crowd....too bad this was the last song...the love for these musicians is “More Than a Feeling” and you could hear shouts wanting more. Next time, St. Pete.... next time. Written by RockinRita 11/12/07

NEW FRAN COSMO INTERVIEW

Dream takes center stage Nov 01, 2007 @ 12:08 AM By CASSAUNDRA BABER Observer-Dispatch -- -- --Article contents-- ROME — Fran Cosmo spent his elementary school days daydreaming about becoming Elvis Presley. "I remember being in fourth grade and sitting in the back of the class like a day dreamer and the teacher saying 'Francis what's wrong with you?'" said Cosmo during a recent phone interview from his home in Marcy. "I'd be shy about it and say I wanted to be like Elvis Presley. And the teacher would say 'It's really hard,' and 'Are you sure you want to do that?'" .. ...... A NOTE ABOUT FRAN COSMO # Fran Cosmo sang the most of the vocals on Boston's "Walk On" album when Brad Delp was unavailable for the project. # He sang with Delp on "Higher Power" from the band's greatest hits album and several songs from the "Corporate America" album. # Each of the records Cosmo sang on sold millions of copies. # Cosmo toured with Boston in 1995, 1997, 2003 and 2004. He was sure. Years later, he would fulfill that dream when he became the lead singer of Orion the Hunter, and, in the 1990s, he would step into the legendary shoes of Boston lead singer Brad Delp. "It was tons of pressure," he said. "After my success with Orion the Hunter, it was a long period with no success. When that deal came through, it was great. It turned my life around." It was an unhappy time for Cosmo before he auditioned for and joined Boston. He spent years in New York City going from one gig to the next, but home called, he said. "I came back home and put everything aside for awhile," said Cosmo, who grew up in Utica and now lives in Marcy. "I did sheetrock for awhile, things like that. I was very unhappy at that point, but little-by-little it came back, and then the Boston thing happened." Cosmo currently tours with his own band, Cosmo, which includes his son Anthony Cosmo on guitar. The band will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Capitol Theatre, 220 W. Dominick St. They'll play some original songs, but most of the performance will include tunes from Boston's early and later years, Cosmo said. Barry Goudreau, Boston's original guitarist, will make a guest appearance at the show. Goudreau and Cosmo performed together in Orion the Hunter. The duo's last performed together in 1984 during the "Back in the Saddle" tour with Aerosmith. "That's the last time we played on stage together," he said. "So, this is going to be a really special treat." With Goudreau and his son backing him up, Cosmo said the show will provide an overall "good feeling."

BARRY GOUDREAU TO PERFORM WITH FRAN

For those that have blocked bulletins, here is the content of the bulletin released today... Hey everyone! We've been quiet for awhile and we thought we would update you on everything that been going on behind the scenes and what's coming up... First off, as you know Fran had a minor procedure on his vocal chords. That was VERY successful and he is able to sing a full set at this point! His doctors have ok'd singing for now, and he will be returning to Dr. Zeitels (the same that appeared on the Today Show with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith!), for a more lengthy procedure that will finish repairing any damaged blood vessels. In the meantime, Fran has booked some shows with Cosmo that will be featuring as a special guest, Barry Goudreau, original guitarist for Boston, RTZ, as well as Orion the Hunter with Fran! Information on these shows will be posted ASAP. With his voice in much better condition, Fran has excitedly returned to recording his solo album also! There are many other things being planned in the background as you read this, that we are looking forward to announcing soon. You will definitely NOT be disappointed! Fran is back, sounding better than ever, and ready to ROCK every single one of you! Johnboy
