Well, the Preston 'gathering' was a smashing weekend of music and friends - songs round the campfire, marquee concert at the Yew Tree with gravity ale and decent weather - lovely. After a few days in The Brecon Beacons it was back home via Bromyard for the theatre concert there with Gren Bartley. It was another extremely enjoyable evening followed by another great time at Guy Roger's night at The Crown in Heather. Throw in the 'usual' round of singarounds around the county and the summer so far has been so very, very good. Still more to enjoy though, I hope!

Another nice week over on the music side of things - lovely gig with Neil Mercer ( and Heidi) down in Stoney Stratford at the StoneyLive festival. Back home for a blast at one of my favourite Leicester 'proper' pubs, The Black Horse on Friday and a great evening at Beedles Acoustic Club on Monday where the amazing Kevin Hewick trio featured. Off tomorrow for Roger Pugh's solstice gathering in Preston-on-Wye - a few days in the Brecon Becons and then coming back via Bromyard for the theatre gig there with Gren Bartley. I'm a lucky boy.

Had a smashing day today recording with Neil Mercer and the new album is coming along fine. Got back yesterday from a weekend in Cromer attending the folk festival there. Before that had one of the best evenings in a long time on Friday at Clay Street Acoustic in Wymeswold. Lots of great music, including the very talented Mr Calder McLaughlin doing his own stuff for a change and a very appreciative audience - some soul therapy after the chagrin of last Thursday!

I could only get to one of the days at Seagrave but had a lovely gig. The acoustics in the Hayloft room are excellent making it a really enjoyable place to play although the very knowledgeable audience can be daunting!

I quite like Reverbnation - can't say I love it yet as it keeps moving my gigs about - Seagrave has moved to Quorn according to the gig map and Wymeswold is now somewhere in Scotland. Ho Hum.

I'll be running the Royal Arms Acoustic Concert Night this evening ( Tues 7th April) - should be another good one (facebook 'Royal Arms Acoustic'), tomorrow I'll be hosting the Open Mike at The Broadway, Abbey Lane, Leicester and on Thursday doing a solo gig at The Criterion in Leicester (www.thecriterion.co.uk) - Friday it's my birthday and I'll find a gig to go to and let someone else do the playing!

Pleased to say that Neil and I started recording yesterday for a CD we hope to have out by early 2016. It will include a couple of tracks we first recorded in 1976. We hope we have got better since then!
