Had a lovely weekend camped out in the van at The Ship in Brandon Creek by the kind invitation of Stella Hensley and Chris Newman for the pubs beer and music festival. I played an early (and slightly chilly!) slot and then could settle back and enjoy the rest of the music and several different beers! Wonderful.
Then back to the grind on Monday at Tiny studios - mixing for the new CD. Brainshot by the end of the day but one more session should hopefully do it. Fingers crossed.

Joules Yard is a unique venue in Market Harborough, known by musicians and punters throughout Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. It's one we all cherish. Borderline Crossing with myself and ian Spratley guesting played the Sunday lunch session there two days ago and had a fabulous time. A warm welcome, a nice breakfast (except for Ian, he can't sing on a full stomach, poor chap!) and a lively but appreciative audience. Thanks to Kev Buxton of Kontra roots for facilitating ( this guy does a hell of a lot of promotion in the area - check out kcbworld.co.uk - he's a real asset to the area and a fine performer himself - and no, I don't owe him any money!) Suffice it to say, the chaps are looking forward to returning to Joules Yard again.

I've been keeping busy - too busy to blog! Anyway - enjoyed a lovely night at The White Horse in Seagrave. Leics last night - a singer/songwriter evening with Andy Griffiths and Steve Cartwright. They're two of Leicester's best and Leicester has a good few. Off to Stony Stratford to play a private party on Thursday then doing the Joules Yard Sunday Session with Borderline Crossing. It keeps me out of trouble.

We're making progress on the CD - we should be adding Heidi's backing vocals next week and we're hoping to have a surprise guest feature too.
Neil and I, along with Ian Spratley, popped down to The Woolpack in Buckingham last night and played a few at their very enjoyable Acoustic Club evening. Just saying that we like to keep it live too!!

Had a smashing gig last Saturday guesting again with Borderline Crossing - great to hear Ian Spratley in excellent voice after so many problems. A good day recording on Monday with Neil Mercer too. I/we have still got a lot to sort out and January is already fast disappearing. Where does it go?

I've spent a couple more days recording this week with Neil Mercer on our CD. Tom Ball has added some great double bass on 7 tracks and Neil Campbell added his fine accordion playing to four more. I'm very pleased with how they are sounding. Hopefully we're on target for a 'release' in Feb/March.

I met a lovely chap in SIdmouth this summer called Peter, with a definite sense of humour when it came to choosing songs to sing. He's kindly said that he will play one of my tracks on his radio show today on Dublin City fm ( www.dublincityfm.ie) between 12 midday and one o' clock. Thanks to Ian too, of Readifolk, for playing a track in their latest show.

We went down to Sidmouth for the week of the folk festival and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's a lovely place to be and there was plenty of music, wind and sand to enjoy - oh, and a little drop of ale.
We then went to a wonderful little festival at Moira. Really well run and we had a great few days. I shouldn't really be mentioning it as, being selfish, I don't want too many people knowing about it! ( I'm sure it will go from strength to strength as it enters it's eighth year).
Back to the seaside for the Whitby folk week and another wonderful time. I keep saying it, but I'm a lucky boy. Roll on the next outing!

January is going already

New CD progress

Been doing lots!
