I hope everyone is well and looking forward to Springs approach (well in North America anyway..lol). I know I am. The spring just seems to inspire people naturally as the cold, grey, gloomy days of winter slip away. I'm really looking forward to writing new material and have lots of ideas just waiting for a little time, focus and emotional investment.
I received an email from ReverbNation today about my chart position, which is something new at ReverbNation. It's a great site and I'm grateful for their assistance and support of original music. They tell me (at this point in time) I'm ranked 95th out ot 8,191 other artists in my genre/ category and have have you to thank for it. It certainly helps give me some added inspiration that maybe in my little piece of the planet, I'm creating something worthwhile that at least some of you can relate to and enjoy.
The music industry has changed so much in even just the past 5 years. Of course the big one was the emergence of the internet. It really has taken a huge bite out of the mutli-national clongomerits as they figure out how to stem the tide of "free downloads" and file sharing. As far as I'm concerned their getting in a way, what they deserve. They have taken the lions shares of what artists do for years ann they don't even bother to develop artists anymore. Yeah I know, I know, there's sites like iTunes where you can pay $1.00 a song, but I think thats still too much. What is the artist really seeing from that anyway? Maybe 0.25 - 0.50? With all the indie artists and indie lables now, they just wait and see who can sell 100,000 albums alone and then wade in, after the artist has taken the "risk" out of it for them.
The other thing they do of course is the cookie cutter artist production, which is musical cannibalism. A new artist emerges and catches on and they start scrambling with their cookie cutters to mass produce copycats and saturate the market with the same sound. The really sad part about is I think their are a lot of artists with potential they never find their own uniqueness as they get sucked in to the corporate cog wheels. This is why to me a site like Reverbnation is priceless.
Sorry for the rant..lol, got carried away. I really just wnated to say THANK YOU, for your support and let you know I am very greatful for it.
All the best! And remember, music is the universal language that we all share ;-)

I just had to make a few minutes to say thanks to all you lovely people that have stopped by and listened to my songs. And thanks to all those who have shared them with your friends through Facebook, MySpace or right here on Reverbnation. For those of you who like them enough to join as a fan or part of the Street Team... God Bless. Getting original material heard is not an easy thing to do, not to mention extremely time consuming. I've been very fortunate to have had opportunities to play on national television, regional radio and sell a few CD along the way. All on a "part-time" basis... basically because how my life worked out, I didn't have time to pursue my passion on a full-time basis. I've gotten to the point in my life where it;s all about the music. I just want to make music as much as I can for as long as I can. It's such a great thing to have a tool like Reverbnation and Facebook to share with you. So for that and for you, I am greatful.

I just finished writing & recording a new ballad called "Please Don't Ask Me That". I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it. It felt good to be making music again after too many months without time. Cheers Bill Hellewell - November 26, 2007
Well I'm starting to get the hang of things here. They have a really cool feature where I can tie my hotmail addy's in and use some utilities to manage, update my email contacts (aka fans, aka my relatives, friends, family...but I digress....)
Problem is they want me to sign in blood that Ive contacted personally everyone on my list and that they (you) are ok with this. Ok, good intentions but I dont have the freakin time for that right now!! So if you want to join my "mailing list" you'll have to do it on your own, without my personal invitation, of course you could treat this mindless blaberation as your personal invite? Pretty please?? You can sign up from my profile poage here at ReverbNation or from my profile page on Facebook. Very easy. Even my Mother can do it as soon as I turn on her computer and do it...I mean show her how.
In the meantime I've started adding my ReverbNation addy to my posts and Facebook messages and am hoping people will hear it, dig it, share it and so on!!!
Well Thats all for now folks. See you in cyberspace.
Ok, this is my 1st venture into blog territory, so bear with me. I tried Youtube and Myspace and just got frustrated with how they worked (or didnt). I then came across this site through my Facebook account. So far so good. Stay tuned!!
