A must read, too funny (Whole article found at:) http://www.vnews.com/05142011/7803347.htm The last act of the night was the heavy metal messiahs, Element of the Machine. They all had hair that would make Rapunzel jealous. The bass player looked like a skinny, bearded hobo. They were the most polished band of the night. The songs had changes that made sense and they stayed in the same muddy key. They flipped their hair around like rotors on a helicopter. They sounded like diesel engines and played fast like galloping horses and every song seemed to be about dying. During the set, the bartender tried to tell the crowd, in vain, that it was last call. They weren't listening to her -- they were too busy starting a mosh pit. That's right, a mosh pit -- in Claremont, N.H. It was beautiful. The band played an encore. But after that, even punk metal heads needed their beauty sleep, so it was time to pack it in for the night.
