So I'm sayin' to myself, "Self, what happened to all tha dope hip-hop shows that used to jump off in tha area? Ain't SHIT goin' on at tha Cat's Cradle anymore!" I mean, it used to be that I couldn't walk 10 feet without trippin' over tha next ill crew to come to tha Cradle or Lincoln (KRS-ONE, Guru, Gza, etc.) Tha Cradle had it's free Scion Live bangaz, I had my shows lined up, other ill local cat's had their sets thrivin, I mean, hip-hop had a solid-ass presence in NC!!!
Then, it all vanished. Man, there hasn't been a hip-hop show at tha Cradle in about 6 months. I know tha recession hit cats hard, but DAMN!!!! I need my music, ESPECIALLY now. Well, it seems I'm not tha only one that feels that way, cuz I've literally been hit upside tha head wit about 4 dope-ass shows in about a week. I just rocked two joints in Raleigh (at tha Metro Cafe and Lincoln Theater, respectively; both off tha HOOK!!!), and then I find out that not only is Foreign Exchange rockin' Cat's Cradle this Friday, but Del is hittin' tha Lincoln NEXT Friday!!! HIP-HOP OVERLOAD!!!!!! I honestly don't know which one I'm hittin' up (unfortunately, I can't afford both). Awwwww, mannnnnnn!!! Careful what ya wish for...
