Thank you for taking the time to view my PledgeMusic campaign. I’ve been writing songs for the past fifteen years between Martha’s Vineyard, Boston and Mackinac Island. Though, I haven’t had the time to get them recorded as life has taken on it’s own beat, I am more than ready to complete this project which has been a long time coming. Living back in Michigan made has possible for me to reconnect with the musical community I’ve missed so much in Detroit and I am really looking forward to working with great musicians and sharing this album with everyone.
Last winter, I started recording with the talented Chuck Alkazian at Pearl Sound Studio and am looking to complete my project this winter. Writing and recording with guitarist Erik Gustafson, bassist Gary Rasmussen, drummers Johhny Bee Badanjek, Nino Dmytryszyn and Donny Sorenson has been a dream that I would like to continue and complete. I am also hoping to bring in more musicians that we all know and love, but can only do that if I am able to raise enough money to expand this full band project and book the proper amount of studio time.
My goal is modest as I am also contributing financially, but the more I can raise means we can do more production whether arranging, adding tracks, more instruments and vocal tracks in the studio as time is money. I’ve always wanted to create a great album, but have always been constrained financially. This direct to fan campaign is also designed to ensure you get something in return, I hope you will find a way to get involved from range of price points I’ve created.
By getting involved in the process whether you are looking to pre-order the digital download, having a house concert or fancy becoming the executive producer, one thing is certain, you will become a 21st century patron of the arts.
And to give back, please know 10% of the funds raised will be donated to my rescue dog Lola’s former home/shelter: Alger County Animal Shelter in Munising, Michigan. They are a 501c3 non-profit and operate a “no time limit” shelter solely operated by volunteers and a shelter manager. If you haven’t heard of them, please visit their site www.algeranimalshelter.org to learn about the incredible and inspiring work they do every day saving lost and abandoned animals in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Lola was dropped off at their door in terrible shape and they saved her life. By doing so, my life has been enriched.
If you have any questions, please email me at email@example.com.
With your help, we can get this done! xo, Mary
Very excited to be working with Michelle Chenard and Barbara Payton in our new project Blood Sisters, an Americana/Blues/Rock band. Joining us are JC Whitelaw, Gary Rasmussen and Nino Dmytryszyn.
Our first big gig is with the Howling Diablos during the Mackinac Island Music Festival on August 18, 2011. Hope y'all can make it.
