Formed in 2012, the MaxJames Band recently began its journey into the rock and roll scene. Max and Luke Coulson, born in Spokane Washington, grew up in the early 1990s and were influenced by the likes of Oasis, The Beatles, The Doors and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. They began playing music at age five. Max took a liking to the drums and guitar. Luke followed with similar aspirations. While they are brothers and both devoted to playing music, Max wrote his first song at the tender age of nine and has continued writing songs accumulating a resume not yet read by most. His songs sing of love, dreams and life struggles.
In January 2013, The MaxJames Band, in search of new members gave previous bass player P.J. Halverson a call. A marine with only a few months left to serve, P.J. could not think of a better way to continue his life than to pursue one of his greatest passions. After hearing these boys play an acoustic set in Hood River, veteran Portland producer Marcus Lampros of Zowie Productions (who previously worked and played on The Swell’s debut) saw enough promise in this group to move them to Portland, Oregon in 2013.
Presently recording at "ZOWIE studios", in Vancouver, the MaxJames Band plans to release its first CD by late 2013.
