New Horizons...

This has been an incredible year. We have been blessed beyond measure and have had so many doors open for us, both as a duo and as a part of 2-Bit Palomino, a trio with us and Bill Ward. We will still be out playing as a duo, when time and occasion permit. With that said, we will be opening for Tom Prasada- Rao at Millbend Coffee House on May 14th. We are very excited on so many levels...Tom is an amazing writer and performer. We'll let you know more as the date draws closer. Thanks for taking this journey with us...we wouldn't have it any other way!

Shoulder To The Stone

What an awesome week it's been. Last Sunday we were invited to come out to Jack Saunders' house to record some vocals on a song written by he and Saylor White for a project they're doing to help with the Haiti relief efforts. It was an ensemble of approximately 20 (plus or minus) very talented musicians from in and around Houston. We did the song ala we are the world. Lots and lots of vocals, but it came out (thanks to Jacks awesome engineering skills) sounding great!

It was a day of meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones. Just a great day all around.

We were also asked to include one song, "Every Little Thing We Do" on the compilation CD that they'll be selling exclusively through MyTexasMusic.com.

We're so blessed to be a part of this great effort and looking forward to our involvement helping to provide some much needed assistance to the Haitians effected by the earthquake.

Waldo's Coffee Shop

We were asked by Brian Kalinec to play with him at Waldo's Coffey House in the Heights on Friday the 6th of February. The show is at 8pm and cover is $5. We're looking forward to a great night of music and awesome java!!!

Gig at Anderson Fair

Well, it's been a long while since we've blogged. Much has been going on. Ren had a triple bypass back in August of 09 which pretty much slowed us down through the end of the year. 2010 marks the new beginning for The Renfrees. Ren is in tip-top shape and we're ready to hit the ground running.

Our first gig of 2010 was at Anderson Fair on the 28th of Jan. It was an awesome night of music with Ken Gaines, Wayne Wilkerson and Colby Miller. We can't wait till we can get back there to play again, what an awesome venue and staff.

Anyway, we're looking forward to a busy year and to seeing y'all at one, or several, of our shows!

It's about time...

On Saturday, February 14th, we (The Renfrees) played our first gig at Bohemeos as a duo. Andi and I have always been involved in musical performance but with other bands and as solo acts, but never as a duo. So, after 5 long years, we finally decided to put The Renfrees into action. It was like putting on a pair of comfortable jeans!! We loved it. We looked at each other afterward and asked why we hadn't done it before. LOL... Anyway, we want to thank those of you that came to see us. We were blessed by your presence. And thank Dusty Duhon for inviting us and Bohemeos for having us. We're looking forward to playing there again. As a result of all of this, we have decided that we will be recording a CD as The Renfrees and will begin work on it soon. Stay tuned...
