A Blue Ocean Dream / Blog

In the media

I recently did a remix of the song "Drive you home" by Color Theory (Brian Hazard).

So I sent an e-mail to the local newspaper, promoting my music and the remix. A week after a reporter phoned me up, (Stefan Westrin , arbetarbladet) ,he interviewed me about my music making, my fascination for synthesizers, and the Color Theory remix. It's in Swedish, so use google translate if you wish to read it. ;)

http://arbetarbladet.se/noje/musik/1.5322670-syntharen-som-fortsatte We had a really nice talk, but afterwords I began to think of all the things I should have said, when you finally get to be interviewed, you really don't know what to say, at least not me.

Ok ! , So I have given in for the pressure of being on Facebook, search for a blue ocean dream in your facebook search bar , and you will find my music delivered by Reverbnation. I'm involved in another music projeect at the moment, so there will not be so many new songs coming from abod at the moment. The project is called återvinnings-synt (recycling synth) and will be made on old digital 80's synthezisers, sounds something like early erasure but not so produced, and with more instrumental songs and a few ones with Swedish lyrics. This project will be coming out later this year.

GAS !!!

I Am sick !!! I just bought a new keyboard, although I bought a new keyboard a couple of months ago too, I just needed to have this one ;)

I'm suffering from GAS... Gear Acquisition Syndrome . No it's not deadly, it shows it's effect in the way, that I'm constantly seeking new ways to upgrade my music equipment, a new software, new microphone or a new computer. This can be frustrating when it comes in the way of my music making, I'm perfectly aware of the fact that I can manage with the things I have, but... Well the new keyboard, a Korg kontrol 49, is really great, it helps me to control the software in a more visual way, With propellerheads Reason and Record it works like a dream. Reason sends a mapped preset to the korg, so when I select a device in reason, the keyboard follows and shows the right instrument along with the right parameters in the 8 displays, perfect :)

If you are intrested in music high tech, you know that the Musikmesse has just taken place in Frankfurt, and korg announced the a new must have thing called “monotribe”, a small analog synth/ beatbox that you can tweak some great sounding blip blop :) I like when the drums kind of puffs and pops like the old drummachines. I'm also very interested in the new softsynth “Nuklear” from Hamburg-audio, it looks nice, but they haven't posted any audio clips yet, it will feature a new sound synthesis, so I'm very exited and looking forward to hear it !

I think the next album, if there ever will be one, actually will go back and sound more like my early “electric” album. Speaking of “electric” there is a song there called “in orbit” check it out, I will upload it here at reverbnation.com , it's about an astronaut drifting around alone in space, I thought it could be cool, now when Jurij Gagarin has been honered in a 50 year anniversary, as the first man in space, he is mentioned in the song btw.

warning artists about numberonemusic.com

I want to warn all, of a site called numberonemusic.com Don't join thinking you can build up a huge fanbase. All or most of the e-mail adresses you collect are fake, sent out by bots !

I found this by some googling. A guy called crankshaft posted this on a forum, he created a band called "the blobsters" http://www.numberonemusic.com/theblobsters/

where you can listen to a 30sec mp3 of silence... He got an email from one of his many fans, it read:

"heyhey i really love your sound ! so i recomended to my family n friend. n im always tune ur songs when im on n1m"

I also got some e-mails looking just like this, and when I tried to answer they bounced back, telling the adress didn't exist. I paid 89 dollars for a full membership, got over 800 mail adresses that are totally worthless, but I actually managed to get a refund by sending a mail to numberonemusic.com telling them I knew it was a scam, and that I would continue with a law persuit !

So stick to myspace, revebnation, facebook as your fanbase, don't join numberonemusic it's a Scam , a Fake , save your money !
