Publishing deal & more..

I'm really excited to announce that i've signed a music publishing deal with Phrased Differently! Over the last year I've been approached by a few publishers, but I felt the timing/people not quite right & since graduating from Uni I've worked alot with the Phrased Differently team in Shoreditch, London & loved the company's ethos & forward thinking - so I was especially pleased when Hiten Bharadia offered me a Publishing deal and of course I said yes :) I'm doubly excited as I get to write for other Artists but very importantly I'm writing for my own project as an Artist - with the anticipated release of my first E.P. in Sept/Oct of this year. At the moment you can hear acoustic versions of some of the new songs on my youtube page, plus there's videos of live performances on my website - I've put the links below :) Next week I'm really looking forward to recording/filming a Redbull session & I've had confirmation that I'm on the line up for this Summer's Hop Farm festival - Camp Acoustic - 29th June set time 11.00pm & the Secret Garden Party - The Living Room tent - 21st July set time 6.30pm - It would be so lovely to have your support at either or both of the festivals if you're going :) Later this month as a proud Ambassador for the international charity Global Angels I've been invited to do an intimate acoustic set for the 'Angel Artist Series' at the next Angel Club party at the beautiful Sanctum Soho Hotel & in May I've been invited to perform at the Kids Count 'Inspiration Awards' at The House of Commons - & I'm very much looking forward to being involved also with the Kids Count charity too in the future - I'll be posting pictures & footage up of both events on to my facebook page. I'm on all the usual sites if you want to hear/see my general ramblings, pics & updates: twitter - soundcloud - youtube - facebook - reverbnation - myspace - website - and find me on Instagram: raphaella_bella - I'm a photo fiend! And if you like what you hear/see then please share/comment/like/tweet/etc. :)!

Thanks a million Raphaella x

Showcase Live & a bit of an update from November 2011!

I thought it was about time I sent out an update with my next gig details & what I've been up to over the last few months! I'm really excited to say I'm performing at the next 'Showcase Live' at Under the Bridge, Fulham Road next Monday the 21st of November, 7pm. There's a great line up & I'll be opening up the event- so don't be late! Murray James, Alex Buchanan, Hatty Keane, D'Kota Reign are also on the bill. Tickets are on sale now for just £5 & £8 on the door, 18+, 14-17yrs with an adult. I've now finished Uni & graduated with a 'First' in Music, (woop) & recently at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire where I performed, was presented with an award for the Best Overall BMus(Hons) student =)! I've spent the last few months song writing & co-writing with some great people: Dee Adam, Ben Collier, Adam Argyle, Ben Harrison, George Nakas, Adrian Zagoritis, Hiten Bharadia, Knightstarr, Tobias Kampe, etc. which has been fantastic, & they've not minded me getting on the production desk too! I'm also going to be writing more over the next few months so I'm really excited with what's going to come out over the next few months too. All this hasn't stopped me performing, the Roundhouse invited me do some great gigs, one in particular 'Access All Areas' had laser lighting & pyrotechnics done by the guys who did work for Beyonce, it was an incredible experience - there are some great pictures here.. RAPHAELLA I also joined Rizzle Kicks & Clement Marfo & The Frontline at 'this is Wired's secret line up at Shoreditch House in September. The event hosted by the lovely Kate Bond had a great atmosphere with Sebastian Cult Hair Professionals doing hair for us acts in the evening & giving out an amazing goody bag full of Haircare products too. There's a fab video from the night of one of the songs in my set called 'On My Own' which was recorded by Lite Switch TV. I've also been doing some acoustic covers & versions of some my new songs which I'll be posting up on my Youtube page - the first one 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room' is already up, so please have a look, like, comment & share! Also as an Ambassador for the charity 'Global Angels' I'm so excited to tell you that Natasha Bedingfield, Joss Stone & friends will be performing at a very special Global Angels charity concert & awards ceremony in London on the 2nd of December. Tickets are on sale now from Angels in Concert I've also had to create a new facebook page for 'all things' Raphaella as the old one has a typo error in the URL link (lol) Facebook won't let you change it. So please jump ship and 'Like' the new page to join me with all my news & updates=)! Looking forward to seeing you on the 21st if you can come along. Raphaella x

I'm the first Featured Artist on DIGGING YOUR SCENE !

Hey Guys and Girlies, I recommend joining DYS its a great place for Musicians, Film makers, Photographers, etc to network.. Click the link below to read up about me! and for more info..

In July I applied to a competition that the Roundhouse & EMI were putting on- where all throughout the month of September, they give 30 artist/bands a chance to have a free day of recording time in the EMI Studio at the Roundhouse in Camden! So after hundreds of people applying, I was lucky enough to be one of the artists selected to take part in the project! Woop=)

So, after the launch party where I got to meet the team & the other artists/bands, I was assigned producer Joe Fields (Amy Macdonald, Placebo, Dido, Duran Duran) who was absolutely FAB(!) I had such a good session and amongst videos, cameras and A LOT of Nandos, managed to produce up and re-record my original track to make it sound like I had always envisaged it to be- an explosion of bass/brass/strings and killer vocals=D I am v. excited to hear the final mix =o! Plus, check out my pic in the link below which is being used as the header for the Roundhouse weekly update pages! (prettyyy cool for just some handy photo-shopping at home!! haha)

I’ll update you all again soon as there’s an Industry Discussion Panel and Album Launch Party coming up for all the artists involved!

Much love as always,

Raphaella x
