Hailing from New Haven, CT, Guitarist Chris Bickley has released his first solo CD, Tapestry Of Souls on the label Shredguy Records. It is the 14th release for Shredguy Records and the release date of May 1st coincides with the label’s 4th anniversary. The album was produced by Vic Steffens and Mastered by 10 time Emmy award winner and two time Grammy award nominee, Jim Chapdelaine. Written and recorded over a two year period, the initial inspiration came from a friend -Drummer Gaetano Nicolosi-, who inspired Chris by laying down the drum tracks for what became the first two songs. Says Chris, “creatively I just pick up the guitar and I become inspired. I don’t consider myself an enigma, but when I pick up the guitar it just flows out of me.”
From the first song -Racecar Guy to the last Old No.9, Chris and the guest vocalists on this CD give it their all. There are guest appearances by such notable vocalists as Mike Vescera (Yngwie Malmsteen, Loudness), Kelly Keeling (John Norum, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Michael Schenker Group), Chandler Mogel, (Outloud, Talon) and Jimmy Kunes (Savoy Brown, Cactus). There is truly not one of these eleven tracks that doesn’t absolutely rock!
The band also includes members from Obsession, House Of Lords, Johnny Winter, Trouble Tribe and many more. Chris himself has played with Ron Keel, Joe Stump, Thunderhead, SNL singer Christine Ohlman, and Teri Lane.
While recording this CD Chris says everything went very smoothly. “I think the magic comes in the fact that I gave the vocalists free reign and they were able to be themselves when it comes to singing up against my compositions.”
Tour plans are in the works for Chris to be on the road if possible by year’s end. Watch for Chris Bickley featuring a very surprise guest vocalist on tour! In the meantime Tapestry Of Souls will be available at iTunes, CDbaby, www.chrisbickley.net, and www.shredguyrecords.bigcartel.com
