I'm a Huge Fan of Deftones and that will never, ever die. But the fact that one of the most interesting, charismatic, talented, and beautiful soul 'Chi Cheng' was taken away from us much too soon has been very hurtful and difficult at times to endure. Even though I've never met Chi personally, I love him as if I knew him because I have so much respect and admiration for him and his awesome talent. I love every member of Deftones, but whenever watching Deftones performances, my eyes would usually focus on this beautiful man with long dreads rockin his bass like no other. Chi was an Awesome performer with his Bass.....I so miss seeing him with Deftones. I always took pride in the fact that his birthday is 1 day after mine, which meant (in my eyes) that some of our qualities in personality could possibly be similar being Cancerians. That might be going a little too deep than I need to go, but it is the truth of how I feel. I've always heard from people who have actually met Chi mention how nice of a person he was and how much of a pleasure it was to meet him. It is all I've ever imaged it to be. I've always seen him as a Beautiful Soul without quite knowing how I could see that without knowing him personally. It just is what it is......He was our Beautiful Angel on Earth that was taken away from all of us much too soon. I miss him so very much and I will always love and honor him. We all have our own special memories of him whether it's on a personal level or from past concert performances, videos, pictures, press clippings, his poetry, etc. So it's definitely factual to say that Chi lives within all of us one way or another and he lives forever in our hearts.
Chi, you will never be forgotten. I miss you, I love you, and I will always honor you. I also must include that I will always recognize and give special thanks to Chi's beautiful Mom, Mama J. who brought into this world a beautiful and talented gift for us all....Chi Cheng. Much respect and many blessings to you and yours Mama J. OneLove!
