A Little About Me
I am SUGA BEE. Someone unique, generous and beautiful evolving everyday. Also known as Shauna (Hebrew for God is Gracious) aka Mheni Khali aka Jane Dinero aka Lil Billie aka Kizzy aka Books aka Shah Jackson (www.facebook.com/nappygalblu). I was born December 27, 1984 in Durham, NC. I am frequently being called awesome and will always be one of the hardest working women in any state I live in since 1990 when I assisted my mother, Joyce aka Nada, with data entry at Duke University. My father (William aka Billy) introduced me to Aerosmith, Paul Mooney, Redd Foxx, Parliament, Millie Jackson, The Pointer Sisters, Ceelo Green and all types of things that have enhanced me. My parents were bullies according to this weak, neo definition, so I'm ferocious. I have been reading since 1987 and rapping since 1992, when my X-Men cartoon no longer entertained me and I got bored with playing with other children. I worked with Recognize Real in 2003 and 2004 briefly. Most known for my 20/20 memory, staying employedness, parenting skills (Mother of Adonis), Positive Tourette Syndrome, applause, folks, staccato, minor bravado, and my ability not to involve myself in fuckery. I am here. Hey. How you doin?
A Little About My Music
"Can't Go With Out" was recorded in Philadelphia, PA on March 9, 2014 with Nickelz309, and Bundlez of Uptown NY. Bundlez used Night Court's opening song as a sample. WE LOVE MARSHA WARFIELD and especially NIGHT COURT, the series not the experience. Court blows. Song concept was my idea to motivate me to drive to Philly. Before this trip, I was terrified of large bridges.
"Hype & Purpose" was recorded in Raleigh, NC on March 18, 2014 with Oso Flamboyant and an anonymous friend. I am a big fan of Devin Copeland and the Coughee Brothaz so I researched who did the beats. S/O to Daraja Hakizimana. This is my song and I have done it with many people with different verses, but this version was to motivate the people involved to keep reaching for their dreams!
"BUM 919" was recorded in Philadelphia on March 9, 2014 but was written in October 2013 from a freestyle I made about a horrid relationship. I have more music about him but I'm saving that for when I can be more tactful about trifling, unappreciative people. Plus, I want him to keep making music so I can improve my verses. I'll never mention his name for obvious reasons. It is to the beat of "Rebirth Of Slick" by Digable Planets.
"Cash Or Checks" was recorded in Raleigh, NC on January 6, 2014 with BUBSY MILLIONS after our restoration of friendly relations. He wrote the hook. Mastamind Musik made the beat. I used this beat initially for a diss written with a local R&B singer but then I decided that was not a good idea. I want those people to keep making music.
"NASCAR" was recorded years ago sometime and I jumped on this BUBSY MILLIONS song on January 6, 2014. I’m a big fan of his! I heard it for the first time on a Thursday and the following Monday he gave me the opportunity to record on it.
"We Gon Change" was recorded in April 2004 by JTek in Walltown. It is to the beat of Kanye and Talib Kweli's "Get Em High." JTek wanted to record me for free so I rushed to put this song together in 48 hours.
"Dirty Money" was recorded in May 2004 by a man called Hezekiah on Delano by the Village in Durham. He died during a car chase when he was evading arrest and we never got to really finish it but I like it.
