I used to smoke. I don't anymore and I'm glad. I don't mind smokey places, though. Listen: last night I was talking to a couple of singer/songwriters who detest playing in venues where smoking is allowed. They admire the music of Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, Hogey Carmichael and so on and they forget that most of the great jazz, blues, rock and country artists perfected their artistry in smoke filled rooms. Coincidence? Maybe.
