The Village Wine Cellars - November 1, 2013

It's been a while for this bloggin' bit.... Blogging? Sounds like it should mean something different. Has an unclean sound to it, don't you think? ;)

I continuously forget to be mindful of the blog thing. I mean really, I got the time... Then I think man, its no big deal, nobody reads that s&*t anyway... But then I think, yeah but still deada$$ it only takes a few minutes and who knows and what the heck?

So, I'm doing it...

I still feel like if I'm out and somehow discuss how I blog about my shows people are gonna look to see if I have hair on the palms of my hands... Not that there's anything wrong with that...

My buddy Sam came in from DC... Brought a couple cameras so hopefully I'll have some video up sometime soon. I recorded the show off the board with my boss recorder.. Cool little device... Really lets you hear those "moments" that make you wish you could run the whole thing through protools. Listening to myself sing and play is like watching game film or something..I just can't wait for the video.... :) Maybe, if you listen, you'll think differently. It doesn't matter if I hear the stuff or not, every time I play I learn something new or wonder what I could do better. This is no different, just tangible.

I'll post some of the tunes up soon. In all of their untouched glory..

I'm thankful that I can play. I know I have a lot of room for improvement but I'm thankful and blessed to have the gift of music in me. My happiest times come right in the middle of songs.

I'll post some stuff soon. Let me know what you think.

Here's the setlist.

To all who hit The Brixx.

Thanks to everyone that came out last night to see (and hear) me at Brixx Ice Company in Dayton and thank you VERY much to Brixx for having me.

I had a great time. Pretty cool. I haven't had jitters like that in a long, long time. It was cool to feel that old feeling again. Strange flashbacks to gigs and pre-gig kinda stuff.. Ah, the good old days and all it's early anxiousness. :)

I hit a few clinkers and wasn't without my lyrical lapses but I got over the startup hump pretty quickly.

I appreciate the kind words, compliments, outbursts and feedback from everyone. The staff at Brixx was great. Chris (the mgr/bookie or er) seemed pleased and said we'd talk about future dates sometime soon so that's great!

The crowd was great. Very enthusiastic! Many of them I knew and I think I may have exceeded their expectations. Which were already good, of course.. :) But, those I know would certainly tell me where I needed some polish. Everyone there seemed pretty engaged. I can't wait to get back. I should have a good handle on the new gear by then and hopefully no humidity to wreak havoc on my tuning.

Thanks again for having me and coming. ..... that doen't sound right..

See you there again sometime!
