FluxLiner / Blog

Everybody is automatically posting things I don't do

Finally managed to turn off the pesky "Automatically post things I do" (why isn't this deactivated as a default setting?). I also wanted to activate "anonymous browsing" as fluxliner is a stealth kind of guy - but I already had done so. Then there is this strange problem I have with the reverb-player when using Firefox, where all tracks get cut off after about a minute. No such problems with Google Chrome (chrome is not exactly my favourite browser though). But all in all my "hate" for the "new" Reverbnation has finally cooled off. I still think that for my purposes it's a better "launch platform" than other sites like Bandcamp & Soundcloud.

[somebody hands fluxliner a stack of papers from off-screen] This just in!

There will be a Re-Release of 2013's album "Last Outpost" as an EP minus the OLD tracks that make up the 2nd half of the album. This is because: a) the whole concept was bullshit. b) I will once again make available all of the legendary early Fluxvektor collections (thereby rectifying another stupid decision of mine), so there is no need for these few tracks to be on there anymore. c) It reminds me of the whole Official fm disaster. (for those not in the loop: they deleted all of my content there - along with the accounts of many, many other users at the same time - because it contained mashed-up or remixed or sampled content (or so they or more likely their computer algorithm thought). The problem is that none of my then uploaded tracks had any remixed or even sampled content. All of it was completely original. Nowdays I tend to use a few more samples than back in the days, but overall the sampled content will always be less than 5% percent of an albums worth of "music".

UPDATE: the player problem seems to have magically fixed itself.

2015 is more

2015 is Year Zero Plus 1. Therefore 2015 is year 1. This is one year more than Zero. Fluxliner has managed to record more than 1 track this year. Therefore 2015 is more. Fluxliner has yet to release his obligatory album this year. So there is still more to come. And even if the game on the geopolitical chessboard is getting crazier by the day, be safe in the knowledge that there is always MORE

fun fact: in the last 6 years, Fluxliner has composed exactly 2 "uplifting"-sounding pieces of music. These are "hovsky-snovsky" and "Furze Knoll Trollcircle Panic".

Elena's People

OMG! Spider dlb's latest comment seems to have triggered THE pivotal album-release-event-flag that enables me to finally give out the download links for the fluxliner album "Elena's People" which was first announced (as being 10% finished) in 2012. Well... now it's 100% finished. In fact, you can now download it to delete it afterwards. Or maybe listen to it once and then delete it [recommended!] – or whatever strikes your fancy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/63hd3zk7sfdotyh/Fluxliner_-_Elena's_People.zip --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- downloaded & deleted? Good! BUT keep your headphones on (aaah... the sound of the recycle bin emptying feels sooo much better in a closed aural environment, doesn't it?), because there's still moar: I'm talking about new download links for the "Whole Universe Transplant EP" (released 31.12.2013), this time with new, totally different, front cover art. ---------------------------------------------------------- Here: [link dead] -------------------------------------- or here: [link dead] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- working title for the next fl release: "Missing P", which will, among others, include the newly uploaded track "threshold year". If anyone of the Sigma 6 (btw: who came up with that name? I read it in a message P sent me once. doesn't sound half bad - like something straight out of the Raildex franchise... / should we destroy the 'Tree Diagram control center' first? After all, anything is possible in Academy City.) [or should I call them 'Esnips survivors'?] wants to contribute a track of his or hers to this project, feel free to do so and, most importantly: stay de-tuned...

The Rest of the Year

It was a less-than-optimal year. where is the reset button? Anyway... I promised myself to put out at least one more release this year, so here it is, warts and all (actually, there's more warts in this than anything else...) The 'Whole Universe Transplant' EP: http://bit.ly/19YUF23

See you on the other side.

New album update

Some of the tracks that were initially slated to appear on "Elena's People" sound rather fillerish to me - "Modromenz", for example. I think I will put them on a small EP that I will release as a kind of 'Extra' to the album - especially since the Fluxliner project was always about releasing everything, even if it means putting out more filler & brainfarts than quality-material. Why? One reason is I really enjoy creating album art (the front cover-pics, that is) and I also like making strange and unusual album & track titles (so, naturally, they have to go somewhere). In any case: We'll see...
