Jared Purdom / Blog

As Before...

As before, here are three songs of my upcoming release.. With the exception of "Regret", I'm doing the whole album in standard tuning.. The Music for "Regret" was written in 2005-2006 by myself and Jared Christian for a band called "Satyriasis"... I wrote the parts and he arranged them... I maintained the song for almost ten years trying to get people to play it with me... "Souls Of The Damned" is a song about suicide... It's dedicated to my friend Michael Kuriatnyk... I had hoped to have him as my father-in-law but things never work out the way we plan... He was a musician and a working man... The Madness of the world and the women in his life drove him to take his own... "Souls Of The Damned" features a keyboard solo by Robert Jackson... Thank you so much, anyone who's listening... Please enjoy these songs as they are the confessions of a sad, lonely, dying artist...

Where to go...

Where to go from here... I've received almost no feedback on the content of my first two albums... By this, I mean specific feedback... What I've got from most people who said anything was a general approval... I did get one strong negative from a fellow musician... I have not heard any "more of this", or "less of that", nor any suggestions on technical level or production... So, this next album should be interesting... I'm gonna try to do the whole thing in standard tuning... I haven't even played in standard since Corpsefucker, and that was on bass... I'm also gonna try to ramp up the technicality and increase the diversity in song structure... All this would be so much better if I had others to work with... Then, I could really focus on one instrument and my vocals... or just my vocals... I fear there is a misconception that I like doing this alone... I don't... The art is so much better when it's a group effort...
