Happy July everyone!
Summer is here and it’s been a great couple of months of gigs so far. I even got out to San Diego for the first time and played at the Tin Roof in the Gaslamp District. What a great time!
AWESOME GIG ALERT: I’m playing with my band at Eli Lilly’s Brickyard Block Party event on July 21st. Check out these details:
* Time: 6-7p * Place: Georgia Street (Downtown Indianapolis next to the Convention Center and Pan Am Plaza) * Free Show * All Ages Show * Food Trucks (Take care of dinner while you’re at it) * NASCAR Drivers signing autographs & pit crews giving demonstrations * Games for kids * Music from Corey Cox at 7:30p
I’ve started the After Work Wednesdays series at the Rathskeller again. Come out from 5-7 out in the Biergarten where me and some of my friends will be jamming acoustically. I play some, then they play some. It’s a great relaxed atmosphere. Last month Brett Wiscons helped me kick things off in a great way. Here’s who’s on tap: * July 19 - Matthew Corken * August 16 - Katherine Nagy
My self-titled EP is available on all the major online sites (iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud) but did you know it’s also now available on Pandora? They have a special submission process and I’m thrilled to say I passed the audition. Check me out there and start your own JAB radio station.
At the end of the month I'm playing the Wide Eyed Music Festival on July 29th at the Fountain Square Brewing Company. Excited to be part of such an amazing lineup of acts!
I'll be back soon with another update and more exciting news.

Since my publicity campaign started there have been quite a few new additions to the mailing list. Welcome to all of the new folks! I send a newsletter out every 4-6 weeks so stick with me and see what happens!
My self-titled EP is getting some great reviews! You can see one excerpt below and more on my website. Click links for the full reviews.
On a personal note, I’m thrilled to announce my daughter, Rowan Anabel Brown was born on March 8th. She’s been such a good baby and is taking it easy on her parents. Here’s a quick photo of us together. My wife and the boys are all doing great as well.
I’ve done a video for ‘Emptiness Is Forever’, one of the tracks from the EP. It’s a very personal song about a friend I lost way too soon and the video is appropriately simple and sincere. It’ll be out sometime next week and of course available on the website and my Reverbnation profile.
All these new developments demand celebration! As it turns out, I got an opportunity to open for a great band called The Elect at the Rathskeller in downtown Indy on my birthday, April 29th! For those of you around Indianapolis, please come hang out! We’ll get there in the early evening, then I’ll do an hour-long show starting around 6:30; solo-acoustic for a few songs, then with my band. Afterwards we’ll stay and watch The Elect play. I’ll have copies of the EP available on CD for a few bucks that night as well!
I'll be back next month with another update and more exciting news!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and it getting into the swing of 2017. Although there haven't been many shows lately there's been a LOT of stuff going on here. Let me explain:
I finished my new song 'Make Time' and was getting ready to put it out as a single, when I was contacted by a publicist from Boston. She heard some potential in several of my songs to pitch to music news media (blogs, magazines, webzines, etc.) and encouraged me to put out a 5 song EP representing the range of material I've been putting out recently.
We also discussed my name (which is of course, rather common) and decided it would be good to start publishing my my music under my full name Jason Andrew Brown.
So..... In the next few days I'll be releasing a 5 song self-titled record with 2 new songs (Make Time, and Emptiness Is Forever) along with Shine Sun Shine, Stranger, and Icarus. Fingers crossed that these songs resonate with some music industry tastemakers and I can reach a larger audience! Want a preview? Just check out the songs section below. The new ones are tracks 3 and 4.
In the meantime, if you're around Indianapolis please come out to Bier Brewery & Taproom next Friday, February 10 where I'll be playing solo-acoustic from 6-8pm.
Thanks everybody for your continued support. It means a lot to me that folks would sign up on a list to hear what's going on with me from time to time. If you know anybody else who's interested please have them join the mailing list as well as this is my favorite form of communication with all of you.
I'll be back next month with another update and hopefully some more exciting news!

Hey all, I'll start posting past newsletters here for anyone that wants to catch up on whats been happening recently. Here's the one from October.
Fall is in the air! With the cooler weather comes some great gig opportunities and other fun.
The sessions for ‘Make Time’ are going great and I should have a release later this year. It’s going to be a great song and I can’t wait for you all to hear it.
October is the last of the heavy show months. Along with several private parties, here are the public appearances:
1. October 22nd (Saturday) I will return to the Rathskeller Biergarten for the final outdoor show with the band. This time, Jason Stahl (from Cousin Roger) will be joining me on the drums and we’ll welcome Will Robb on bass into the fold for this special show. 2. October 26th is the last After Work Wednesday with Jason Brown (also at the Rathskeller Biergarten). Showtime is an early 5pm - 7:30pm so stop by after work for a beer and a snack and enjoy the show outside! 3. November 3rd, I’ll be playing the Indianapolis Artsgarden for a lunchtime show from 12:15pm to 1:15pm. If you’re in the downtown area, stop by for lunch and check out Erik Scull and I doing our thing. 4. November 12th I’ll be at Bier Brewery solo-acoustic. Their beer is some of my favorite in town and their tasting room is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere 5. November 18th Push Down & Turn will be performing some of our Prince covers at HiFi as part of Tonic Ball. Tickets are already sold out for this festival but if you happen to be going anyway, make sure to look for our timeslot and check out the show!
Speaking of Push Down & Turn, the reunion video has been released and is now available here. The show and the video production are both amazing so get your copy today! Click HERE for more info.
See you out there!
Hey all. Check out http://jbrown-music.com for a newly updated page. New look, new content, new band, new shows!
This Wednesday's song is a little sketch that I'll fill out eventually. It's about the ever-present 'conflict versus cooperation' dilemma. Check out the linked video to see how I used this one to kick of a recent concert at the Rathskeller.
This Wednesday's song is called Loaded Gun. It's about the sometimes frustrating American experiment. Government, guns, and gripes... Enjoy!
This Wednesday's song is an older one I recorded with some friends several years ago. It's about new beginnings so I'm sharing it in honor of my new son Lonn who joined this world last Saturday morning. There's a more laid-back acoustic version you can check out as well. Please enjoy 'Little Secret'!
If you become a fan, but my song play count doesn't increase by at least one... I question your sincerity. Just sayin. ;)
Check out the 2 versions of Stranger I just posted and let me know which one you like best. Visit http://jbrown-music.com/survey.html and vote!
