Pink Roses on FMFI CD!/Jul-Aug Update

Hello everyone,

Hope you and yours are well. It has been a while since my last update, and the whirlwind of a year has kept me spinning on to newer and brighter things.

The 2015 Folk Festival was a blast, and not only did we have a lot of fun, but it was an honor to play and jam with some very seasoned musicians and singer-songwriters. Suz Grandy hit it out of the ball park with our set on the Ann Thomas River Gazebo Stage, and I had a blast playing with Jeff Parker, Curtis Schaper, and Paul Evers. Coming soon - I also wrote my first song for banjo, "Meet You On That Golden Road," which will be included on my upcoming cd.

"Sweatfest" in June was also a lot of fun, and aptly named - a lot of great performers for one hot and humid weekend made for a sweat filled and fun weekend!

I also finally finished recording the fully produced version of Pink Roses, and it surpassed even my wildest dreams as one of my best songs yet. Thanks to my awesome recording studio Engineer, Ernie Evans, I now have my very own Carter Family inspired hootenanny! Featuring Ernie Evans on bass, Jeff Parker of Road Less Traveled on mandolin, and Robert Zielinski on fiddle, I even dusted off my old autoharp and channeled Maybelle Carter on it. Please check it out here! https://www.reverbnation.com/cindybear/song/20976622-pink-roses

I also just received word that Pink Roses was chosen to be included on the next Florida Music Food Initiative cd, of which sales benefit the homeless and hungry in Florida. What an honor! The cd release concert will be on the Sunday before Thanksgiving on November 22, 2015, at the Farm venue in Brooksville, FL, where I and other artists will be performing our songs from the cd. I wrote that survivor's song with my Mother in mind as she was the strongest woman I've ever known, and her recent death has brought new meaning and purpose to the song.

I believe she would be glad to know that Pink Roses will be part of the same purpose she did a lot of volunteer work for, and that was to help feed the homeless and hungry in Kansas. The Florida Music Food Initiative is such a worthy cause! Check out the FMFI here http://www.floridamusicfoodinitiative.org/

I also got to perform with the great Karen Abrahams of Austin, TX at the Mudville Music Room on July 26th. I got to sing along with her with her cast of greats too - John Peyton, John Piantadosi, Brian Homan, Steve Pruett, and Susan Daly. Wow! What an honor.

Next up are 2 fun perfomances over the next few months:

- Jeff Parker and I will also be sharing a 2-hour set together at the Hampton House Artisan's Way Gallery in Melrose, FL from 11 am - 1 pm on August 19, 2015., https://www.reverbnation.com/show/16359082

- I am playing Folk In The Springs on Sunday, September 20, 2015 in High Springs, FL. https://www.reverbnation.com/show/15192818

Looking forward to finishing out this summer with a bang!

Thank you for your support of my music.

Wishing you peace, joy, love and music. Always.

Take care,

New Video / Pictures / Song Posted!

Hello everyone, Hope you all are well, and are having a good year so far :-) I just posted a video from our live performance of my funny pet peeve song, “How About You?” from the FOFF FEST 2015! concert at the Mudville Music Room on January 10th. . Make sure you really listen for when it gets to around 5 minutes into the video as I’m singing the verse about teenagers. You can hear my ex-husband teasing my son, “See? I’m not the only one she wrote a song about!” “Hahaha! “I don’t feel alone now” and “Spread the love!” Haha! Too funny not to share. Overall it was a fun concert, and it was a huge honor to be a part of it all. We had the best audience ever too - what a blast! You can watch the video from my site here, or on youtube.com at https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-ts=1421914688&x-yt-cl=84503534&v=vkbdX3MEpkg Will send out a festival update soon (have landed a few more gigs!!!) but for now I have posted: 1. New pictures from the FOFF concert and the 2015 South Florida Folk Festival in Fort Lauderdale, FL (YES!) where Curtis and I actually got to play a set last weekend!!! 2. January 2015 Update

Hello everyone, Welcome to the new year, and hope you are all having a great one so far! This Saturday night, January10, 2015 at 7:30 pm is the 2015 FOFF (Florida Friends of Florida Folk) Fest at the Mudville Music Room in Jacksonville, FL. The NFFN (North Florida Folk Network) is hosting the concert, and my new bass player, Curtis Schaper, and I are honored to be sharing the stage with the extremely talented artists Alan Gross, Terry Whitehead and Shane Myers. There will also be a raffle drawing for a big cd basket full of top notch music from our local artists, and free cake too (yes, free cake)! This will be my first time at the Mudville Music Room as a featured performer, and Curtis and I are very excited to be playing there! This is a free concert (donations accepted), so if you happen to live in the area, I hope to see you there! Here is a link to the show details http://www.reverbnation.com/show/14717777. Additionally, I am an alternate performer for the 2015 South Florida Folk Festival in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on January 17-18, 2015, so Curtis and I will going to enjoy the festival and hopefully perform there, but if not, we will still have a blast at their jam tents and get to hear some great artists too. For more information on the festival, here is a link to the site: http://www.southfloridafolkfest.net/ Lastly, please check out a new upload - it's a live night jam recording of Pink Roses from the performer's campground at the 2014 Florida Folk Festival, featuring Ron Spencer on bass and Susan Staton on fiddle. Amazed it turned out so well, as that was the night the power went out all over the campground and we could hardly see each other play, much less our fingers on the fretboards Hope you enjoy it :-) http://www.reverbnation.com/cindybear/song/22640067-pink-roses-live-night-jam-at-2014 I hope all of you have a fantastic and blessed New Year, and thank you all for your support of my music. Wishing you everlasting Peace, Love and Music, Take care, Cindy Bear "We are worth it - Carpe Diem!"

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone, Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season, and that you had a very, Merry Christmas! Reflecting on 2014, it has been a wild and crazy ride. There have been as many ups as there have been downs, but despite the challenges of everyday life, it has been an extremely blessed year. So what has been your biggest challenge of the year? One might think that getting my music out to the masses has been one of my biggest challenges, but actually life itself has been the biggest one of all, especially the part about being a single working parent of a 16 year old hormonal teenager. Children are one of the best inspirations for a song, and the verse about teenagers in my latest song about the pet peeve blues, “How About You?” is no exception. My son may not be very happy about it, but I’m sure there are parents out there who can definitely relate! Also, people are now starting to refer to my new song as the, “Walmart Song.” Imagine that. I think that’s hilarious, and I’m just happy they remember and like the song! :-) As for everything else, I have taken a little break from performing until January 10th, which is the Friends of Florida annual concert at the Mudville Music Room here in Jacksonville, FL. The North Florida Folk Network is hosting the concert, and I am honored to share the stage with Terry Whitehead, Alan Gross and Terry Whitehead. My new bass playing friend, Curtis Schaper, will also be joining me on stage and I can’t wait. It is a free concert (donations accepted) and if you happen to live in the area, I hope to see you there! Still waiting on word for other festivals I’ve applied to, but am definitely in for the 2015 Florida Folk Festival. Curtis and my friend Tamara Colonna (from Dixie Rodeo) will be joining me on Memorial Day weekend, and it will be the best Florida Folk Festival for me yet – I can feel it! Will keep you posted when I get the performance schedules. I hope you all have a Happy New Year, and as we close out 2014, I just wanted to let you know I truly appreciate your support of my music. Bring it on 2015 - What’s Next? Wishing you everlasting Peace, Love and Music, and a very, Merry Christmas! Take care, Cindy Bear "We are worth it - Carpe Diem!"

New Videos Posted!

Hello all, I have uploaded four videos from last night's Women of Woodstock amazing benefit for Ernie Evans last night at the Mudville Music Room in Jacksonville, FL, and they are ready to view on my page. The videos are: Helplessly Hoping by Crosby, Stills and Nash The Road Neverending by The Tillers Not Fade Away by Buddy Holly and Norman Petty Feelin' All Right by Dave Mason. The energy level last night was amazing! It was so much fun to play some old favorites, and return to my rockin' roots for the last two songs. It was also an honor to team up with Dixie Rodeo (Bill Gibson and Tamara Colonna), Phil Green (bass), Cody Walker Jr., John Shilby (harp), DJ (additional drummer), Rick Arcusa (bongos) and Vanya Arcusa (keys) (Rick Arcusa Band). If you would like to hear more of John Shilby and Phil Green, listen to my song, "Please Don't Let The Music End" and "What's Next" on my page. They are all top notch musicians! The whole concert was a huge success, and it was blast to play with a full band for the first time! Some of Jacksonville, Florida's finest artists rallied together to donate their time and talent to help our friend, musician and music promoter Ernie Evans, who is undergoing treatment for bladder cancer. We managed to raise over $1,600 through donations and raffles to this free event, and played to a packed house who were all there to support for Ernie. So happy to have been a part of it all. I hope you enjoy watching the videos as much as I enjoyed playing in them. Thank you for subscribing to my site, and for being my fan! Wishing you everlasting Peace, Love and Music, and a very, Merry Christmas, :-) Take care, Cindy Bear "We are worth it - Carpe Diem!"
