The Carl Institute is hosting a project tonight merging local bands Carl and Tie and the Black Dragon for the first and only time. Complimenting 14 musicians and based in improv it should be a night worth capturing. The show is tonight Friday the 24th of January at the Carl Institute 8012 Tisdale Austin, Tx 78757. Free admission and beer. Show up around 9 to witness the spectacle.
As is the case with all truly self managed/funded bands, revisions are, almost, recommended with regularity. This is because we wish to put forward only to the foot we like best, and in the tradition of best footed-ness it is my pleasure to inform whomever might be paying attention now that the first track and therefor half of our new EP Listen to Carl has been solidified in binary (seriously behind schedule) and will very soon be in your grasp. As for the future of you and us there is Thermonuclear War with North Korea to look forward to.
Get excited folks. Carl releases the supporting EP for Orange You Glad... early next week. The piece will be called, if you couldn't guess, Listen to Carl, and is said to be much more conventional than previous works. But fear not (or perhaps fear indeed) you may still find yourself in places you did not know existed.
So far Carl is in the process of writing our next studio release "Orange You Glad We Didn't Say Carl" and editing (listening to) our studio outtake album: "Unfinished Thoughts About the Universe." Recording for the former will begin in mid-August as well as the shooting of the Carl Eats His Own Head movie with Georgetowne Ray.
