I found out about both the Buddy Guy book and a shorter memoir by Buck Graves, Bluegrass Bluesman, on the same trip to the bookstore. Now they're cued up like a couple of 45s ready to drop down on my cerebrum.

That's the title of Dave Van Ronk's autobiography, which I inhaled, cover to cover, in less than 24 hours. Written with the help of one of my favorite music writers, Elijah Wald, who wrote the equally compelling Escaping the Delta.
