6 questions about my interests….

Recently I was asked these 6 questions… 1) your favourite book 2) your favourite film 3) your favourite Group/artist 4) your favourite comedian/type of comedy 5) Favourite artist 6) Favourite TV show My answers…. 1. Humm, books? Don't read much these days, Prog Magazine lol. Back in the the day, I would read Ayn Rand novels because Neil Peart from Rush was into her. The album 2112 is completely a reworking of one of her novels. But no, I should read more. 2. Most of the big films by Stanley Kubrick. Mostly Shinning and Clockwork Orange, but they are all good. 3. Groups, here we go, this is the fun part….1.Genesis 2. IQ 3.Rush (1977-1982 only) 4.Yes 5. Pink Floyd 6. Marillion 7. Camel 8. Peter Gabriel 9. Moon Safari 10. King Crimson 11. Radio Head, (many more)……123. ELP lol just kidding. the order of the last 6 is always changing, so thats just a rough guide. 4. I used to listen to the Ricky Grevais podcast, really funny stuff. 5. So many artists, love them all. Well film and music related, Syd Mead and Roger Dean. Far from fine art, but I love modern graphic style. Also love furniture design. Guys like Verner Panton. 6. TV shows…Well I love the History channel. Any documentaries by the BBC, mostly about medieval history. Also love shows on the history channel like Pawn Stars and American Pickers, etc, etc. I have become a huge history buff, and interested in all types of antiques.

Old profile at Kompoz

Here is a really old profile description from Kompoz. It is out of date, but just wanted to save it here for a keepsake…... I play keyboards and guitar. I would love to start or form a band. Here is more about me. I am into prog rock. I try and go for that retro prog sound. Mostly Yes, Genesis and Rush. I am also getting into some of the newer prog bands like Spock's Beard, Beardfish, The Tangent, etc, etc. I am also a big fan of early Marillion. I am glad to see a resurgence of prog music lately. Thanks to the Internet, people now have the freedom to experience the music they want to hear, and not just top 40 pop singles. My tunes are not finished pieces but rather song sketches. I have kept them short just to express the main ideas, but some day, I would like to professionally record them with a full band. Then I will expand the length of each part with solos, etc. I play guitar, keyboards and bass on all the tracks. If anybody would like to collaborate, feel free to get in touch with me.

My Toronto Prog Blog

I am working on a blog about the progressive rock scene in Toronto. Check it out if you have time. Just some casual ramblings about crap. http://torontoprog.blogspot.ca

Review from our show last Dec

The final band to perform were the oddly-named Zanzo. An instrumental quartet, they feature two guitarists, as well as bass and drums. They are a relatively new band, but you certainly could not tell that from their performance! The songs featured thundering bass and drum work, complimented by strong rhythm guitar and soaring lead guitar work! I know the name of one member, Peter Albrektsen, one of the guitarists. As I sat and listened, I could imagine myself soaring far above the clouds, racing across the sky in pure delight. A wonderful performance played by excellent musicians! I am sure we have not heard the last of this terrific band, and I look forward to seeing future performances, as well as recorded work. Once more we have had a magnificent NUANCE show! All three artists were delightful and entertaining! There were a few technical glitches, but overall a great show! I know there are time constraints, but I can't help but wish for longer sets from the artists. Our deepest gratitude goes to Wilton for organizing this, as well as making it a toy drive for Christmas! I wish we could have larger audiences, though. The few of us that were there had a great time!

I'm assuming you are also the producer when I say that I think your eq is cutting out some nice sounds in the higher mid range and maybe too much limiter going on. Other than that, I really do enjoy the music on your page and I'd definitely like to be a part of the awesomeness. My question is, do you have a project started or are you awaiting simply to discuss on such or for someone else to start the foundation?

Welcome, Sven. Visited your Reverbnation Site and found you live in Tokyo, Japan? Sounds good.

Anyway, checked your stuffs ... wonderful, with complex sound mixture of psych, symph-flavoured heavy, and spicy mainstream ... really enjoyed too.

New band name "Meridian"

Meridian is an all gaijin progressive rock band playing at the Silver Elephant on May 28th. For more details, please check the clubs's schedule.

This was my old bio. I got board and changed it.

Need Music Production? Need a session musician (guitar, bass, or keyboards) ? I currently do both, however I am new to music production, so I want to get as much experience as possible. I am looking to help up and coming bands or solo artists. I am willing to work for very little at first (or maybe free). I have many years experience editing music on Logic pro. Due to geographical distances, and to save money, I am hoping to do the work by sending digital files over the internet.

Number #2 in Japan for Rock.

I know this won't last long, so I will just enjoy it for the time being. My Global rank is 2894. Cool.
