This music industry can be brutal, as an independent musician you get rejections ,cold shoulders, broken promises you never get a free ride .This is enough to send you around the bend , you can get bitter ,jealous , angry , nasty if you allow it , fortunately I have been through all these emotions and come out the other side . Through all of this I am now strong resilient and realize you don’t need a smash hit overnight , as an independent you actually have time ,you can enjoy the process of creating , releasing your own music, the power it brings you ,knowing you only have one mouth to feed and you can do it your own way . With time, patience and a never say die attitude you can achieve quite a lot, although I have not yet had a smash hit I have been able to sell my music all around the world, via various social networks, iTunes and other similar platforms .more importantly people from all over the world listen to my music and watch my videos (http://www.youtube.com/jaykle101 ). What I have learnt is you constantly need to engage and interact with your fans ,consolidate a networking and marketing strategy ,Set up a website ( http://www.jaykle.com ) join some of the leading social networks , always remember to carry on through the ups and downs, doing something if only very little is better than doing nothing ,action brings activity . Be prepared to take knock backs and carry on as though you have already achieved your musical goals .Prepare music as though there is a world waiting to hear it because there is! But most importantly you must continue to research, reinvent and constantly keep at it! The more you pursue your dreams in a positive manner, the more doors open and more ideas flow through your mind .I hope to the reader this helps if only slightly. Music is the best Art form in the world it must be enjoyed! Jaykle Coming Soon my new EP Jaykle -Kaizen's Horizon http://www.jaykle.com

Putting heart back into art! I got sick of thinking of music success in terms of huge sums of money .I got real with myself and thought about why I started writing, It was the creativity, the joy I actually got from writing my own music and lyrics .Somewhere, somehow I started thinking of success in terms of Units sold and found it made me miserable. Working to unreasonable goals which without the help of a record company was unattainable, I gave the music a break for a while in late 2009, even thinking I would give it up full stop .Mid 2010 I suddenly found the spark and started writing regardless of outcome, I didn't try to write songs for money I just wrote, I found I started writing what I thought were better songs and am enjoying my music more than ever. Quest for Millions is one of those creations and the latest song from my 2011 Jaykle releases, a return to OZ Hip Hop for me and is about taking the quest for cash out of the music and just creating .I am really happy with the way this track has turned out and is available for streaming and of course for sale from my reverbnation store @ http://www.jaykle.com . It's time to put heart back into the art before it dies! Jaykle http://www.new.facebook.com/pages/Jaykle/154974391214665 http://www.youtube.com/jaykle101 http://www.myspace.com/therealjaykle
It was a Friday night, I was at AAMI stadium watching the Adelaide Crows in the N.A.B Cup just staring really thinking about nothing, it had been a long week and I was super tired. When I had finally came to my senses and realized I was staring and not even thinking I came up with the Idea for a song the invisible dream .The next morning I sat on my keyboard and started fiddling around until I came up with the first line “Save me from the Invisible Dream the Invisible dreamers dream”. That idea I liked enough to complete the song. The Invisible Dream Features J-Hoe’s Simon Bartz on Bass And a ripping Guitar track from Cold Sweat Guitarist Graeme Stephenson ,It’s is a straight up rock track and for the first time I used my falsetto voice as a lead track bizarre for me but I really like the results, The drum track I tried to like my Drumming idol Neil Peart from Rush I was also happy how that turned out. The Invisible Dream is available now and can be heard and or purchased online from http://www.jaykle.com. Hope you like it.
Acid Jazz meets lounge with a hint of 70’s style vocal .Soul Groove is the next instalment of my 2011 series of releases. Soul Groove is a completely different sound for me. I was just messing around on my electronic kit when I just played a simple drum groove, I hit record laid down the track, fiddled with some midi bass and in a few minutes I had the foundation for the track Soul Groove, cut and sprinkled some samples, then layered about 10 vocal tracks simply singing soul groove with an adlib rap not really saying much, I didn’t really spend that much time on the track as it seemed to fall in to place with a lot less effort then the others. Soul Groove is available in my reverbnation store and of coarse can be heard on all of my social networking pages for download hit http://www.jaykle.com
Three weeks ago I made available the first single “The 5 Day Buddhist” of a series of releases for 2011 .The songs has been received very well , exceeding all my expectations, My Reverbnation page has received well over 1500 profile views since the release and the emails have been flooding in ,as well I have uploaded the film clip for that track which is also stirring interest . Over the coming weeks I will be releasing the second song from the 2011 series “Soul Groove” which will also become available in my Reverbnation store, along with it will be the film clip. Soul Groove is an acid Jazz almost dance track. I’m looking forward to the release and hope you all enjoy it! Catck Jaykle @ http://www.jaykle.com
Jaykle is proud to announce his brand new single "The 5 Day Buddhist" is now available from the Jaykle reverbnation store http://www.jaykle.com for only $0.99 ."The 5 Day Buddhist" is a real change of sound for Jaykle as he goes back to his roots and slams of an old rock style tune , "The 5 Day Buddhist" pokes fun at the fickle hypocritical nature of most religions. Ironically Jaykle actually thinks buddhism is the most creditable of all religions. It would be wonderful if you could check out the new release "The 5 Day Buddhist" .
As a few of my fans already know I’m on the verge of my first release in over a year. The Day of the Jaykle was a successful release for me and as an independent artist was overwhelmed by the feedback and I am still selling copies, this time round I’m releasing a few singles, the first “The 5 Day Buddhist” Will be available from January 27th from my webpage http://www.reverbnation.com/jaykle .”The 5 Day Buddhist” is a massive change in sound and I know many of my fans may be shocked at the dramatic change. I think for my own development as a songwriter was an important change, and a change for the better .Being an independent artist I am always on the hunt for new ideas for promotion. I am very interested in my reader's ideas or suggestions, also would love to hear from anyone about my name Jaykle? Some people like it, some have said are you serious, what are your views do you think it detracts from the music or it doesn’t matter?
I'm not religious but i am open minded and of the view people are free to believe what they want , however I don't think much about the Wackjobs who preach about something they have been led to believe is true ,or the idiots who refuse blood transfusions for their dying kids , or the hypocrites who tell us we have sinned when we have sex before marriage etc. or the ones who so called sin then confess and everything is OK and the list goes on.This is what led me to write my latest track the 5 Day Buddhist to go on sale via my reverbnation store 27th of January. The song is about the hypocritical natures of many religions , it is not real serious and began as a bit of a joke . Ironically Buddhism is one of the only religions i think makes any sense ,i love their nature, their humble approach to life and the beautiful mantras , i would like to become a Buddhist however i would fall into that category of hypocrite myself .I'm interested in any views about the first few statements Ive made if any .Also my Song The 5 Day Buddhist was not written to harm or offend any one just a little fun.
Peace always Jaykle: http://www.facebook.com/pages/profile/154974391214665 http://www.myspace.com/therealjaykle http://www.reverbnation.com/jaykle
