Music As Meditation

"If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you." --Oscar Wilde

Truth that forces us to reconsider the "safe and sound" world our sub-conscious creates, must be approached in a way that subdues the cognitive dissonance (or, the "I don't give a shit" reflex) that so often follows.

Through art, the deepest depths of fear and suffering can be pondered within a framework of shockingly radiant beauty. A truth must hurt so good as it permeates our consciousness, for truth can only be found through balance. It must be contrasted against the light and the dark-the good and the bad-to measure its worth. This is the fine line upon which our music rigidly stands firm.

"I like people who shake other people up and make them feel uncomfortable." --Jim Morrison
