LCM Artists Management is pleased to announce that Geoffrey Gordon has been selected to receive the 2009 Aaron Copland Award, and will serve as a composer in residence at the Copland House, Aaron Copland's restored, longtime home in New York's Lower Hudson Valley, beginning in January, 2009. These are highly coveted opportunities to live and work in an extraordinary creative environment, and to become a part of the great music legacy of this US landmark. A National Historic Landmark and an Official Project of the White House Save America's Treasures program, Copland House is the only composer's home in the U.S. devoted to nurturing and renewing America's rich musical heritage through a broad range of musical, educational, public, informational, and electronic-media activities.
