So I returned home yesterday from my week and a day journey through New England. (Baltimore, Brooklyn, Ocean City)Unfortunately the folks at Jezebel Music (who headed up the Williamburg Live! Songwriter's Competition) did not grace me with a $4000 grand prize, but I had fun and that's what counts...right? The venue that hosted this competition was superb, though. Rose Live, restaurant and bar on Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you're ever in the neighborhood I suggest dropping in. The food is wonderful as is the atmosphere and the service. Tell Georio I said hello! The Jezebel folks were great as were a lot of the artists involved. I also suggest checking out their website (jezebel music). Anyway, the more personal part of the journey was getting to see my girl who is living, for now, near Baltimore, MD. BONUS! I told her you all said hi! There's not much more to report so I'll leave you all to be. Hope all is well! Sincerely Yours, Jarrod Champion
So for the second year in a row I've been accepted to the Williamsburg Live! Songwriters Contest! Last year, due to my starving artist status, I was unable to grace the folks at Jezebel Music (the company who puts on this fine event) with my whimsical presence. This year, however, I am able to attend and I'm quite excited. Not only for the opportunity to spread my wings for some new faces but, as you may or may not know, my one true love lives, for now, in Baltimore, MD and this contest invitation is the perfect excuse to take a small detour for some much needed "QT". Not to mention, while in NYC I'll be holing up with my good friend Ryan Milligan who is the exceptional voice of The Hotwalls (the band in which I play drums). All in all in should be quite a nice experience as, of course, I do plan on winning! Wish me luck! -Jarrod
