The Ron Johnson Project / Blog

Festival Season!

Its festival season in Florida! The Ron Johnson Project plays our first gig in Macon January 26th but after that it's the Will McLean Festival (March 9th), Barberville (April 27th) and finally the Granddaddy of them all, the Florida Folk Festival Memorial Day weekend in White Springs. It's the best time of the year!

January Happenings

Jan. 1, the Ron Johnson Project is born. Jan. 11, NPR plays "Rasta Truck Driver," a live version they themselves recorded at the Florida Folk Festival (Ann Thomas Gazebo stage). Jan. 13th. CD "Vitamin Sea" is finally available on CD Baby. Jan. 26th. Scheduled live appearance at tribute for my dear friend Billy Johnson, who passed away a month ago. Billy plays congas on several of the songs on "Vitamin Sea."

New Beginnings!

We saw the music of "Ron & Mary" come to an end after seven years and three CD's together, with sadness but with much pride and no regrets. 2013 starts us off with a new, fresh approach and we're looking forward to new doors opening up along the way. We appreciate your keeping an eye on things here and we look forward to seeing all our friends in the coming months. Love, peace and watermelons. RJ
