Have a great day!

Continued from today's Music Blog on my Official Website

This is a continuation to the post I just put up at www.alexxofficialmusic.com. The post there is not directly related, but, unlike this, is one of the most important stories I've ever told in my life. Check it out after reading this.

The gig at Tanya's Gridiron was great. We and the crowd had a whole lot of fun, and we had some really great crowd participation!

The turnout was awesome considering the weather; it was very cold and windy that night, yet the place would fill up, then thin out a little, then fill up again.

We had a guest percussionist, and some background singers come up on stage and play and sing with us. Never saw them before in my life, but we just went with it and all had a lot of fun with it.

This was actually my first "real" gig with the full band in support of the new CD, "Escaping the Dungeon." The line-up was awesome, with Rick on drums, Daniel on guitar, Moises on bass, and me on guitar, vocal AND bass.

That's right, I played both instruments. Revati opened the show, then we did the three guitar army thing with all five of us rippin it up through the whole CD.

Then on the second set, we opened with 6 songs as a three piece line-up, of Rick and Daniel on drums and guitar, and I played bass and sang. I just love 3 piece bands, because that's what I did for many years, and I was always on bass and vocals.

After the six songs, we brought up the rest of the band on the long set, and simply threw it down, "like a mother*fucker."

Yes, it was a great night, except for the weather, and we didn't let that stop us.

SHOVELHEADS RETURN TO THE RAINBOW LOUNGE!

Well actually two thirds of the Shovelheads will be performing (drummer Rick Talavera and myself,) as ALEXX, and will throw down the whold Escaping the Dungeon Live and more.

Special guests Revati will also be performing, and possibly a third band to be announced very soon.

Yes, this is sort of a homecoming for us, because we used to be regulars at the Rainbow, playing Thurs, Fri, Sat gigs at least once a month and played there for years. This gig brings us full circle in that sense, and will bring back tons of memories. It's gonna be lots of fun and we hope you join us!

NEW BAND LINE-UP IN PLACE!

So the band line-up really taking shape. Pretty much what I've been trying to make happen is finally falling into place. Yes, good things really do happen to those who work extremely hard, refuse to give up or compromise, believe in themselves, and put their heart an soul into something. My life thus far has been indicative of that. When I set my mind to something, nothing can stop me! Probably cause I'm one stubborn mother*ucker, lol!

So here's the line-up for the Dec 14th gig at Tanya's Gridiron, 4620 Dyer St., El Paso, Texas: Rick Talavera-Drums, Moises Eisenburg-bass, Daniel Chavez-lead and rhythym guitar; Joe Unzueta-lead and rhythym guitar, and Alexx Delgado-lead and rhythym guitar and lead vocals.

This is a veteran bunch, and I'm really happy with the line-up. If we stick together and work our asses off, I think we can take this thing to the moon! Who knows, we might be the first band to play on the moon. Ya never know, and you can never set your sights too high!

Don't forget to like this page and the songs while your here and thank you very much for that!

AWESOME BAND LINE UP--FINALLY!

Rehearsal was great with Rick on drums, Moises on bass, Daniel on guitar, and me on guitar and lead vocals,

We also have another guitarist, possibly the best of the bunch, joining us next week. His name is Joe, and that's about all I'm at liberty to say right now.

We have plenty of work to do before the gig on Dec 14, but we have some great players, and we work hard, so it's a matter of just getting everyone rehearsed, and everyone memorizing their parts. Joe is doing his homework learning the songs. He's a bad mother*ucker!

So now, we have a 3 guitar army, plus bass, drums and vocals.

We actually have 2 good bass players and 4 guitar players included in the 5 man line up, (plus Rick, who plays a little guitar.)

I've worked so hard to get to this point and to make this happen, and have dealt with a whole lot of sh*t, but I never lose faith in God or myself.

Everything happens for a reason, and I'm growing every day as a person, musician and band leader.

Now I'll be able to put down the guitar and just sing now whenever I want to, and more importantly, just have fun and sing and play. That to me is quite a luxury!

To me, it's all been worth all the trials and tribulations, and will finally begin to pay off!

It sounded great last night with just 4 of us, and these guys are still learning the songs. Wait til I can just concentrate on my own parts and stop haveing to teach and cue the other members while I play and sing. It's gonna get a lot better very quickly now!

Sounds confusing but you can fu*kin bet this line-up is gonna ROCK "like a mother*ucker!

Good things happen to those who wait, work their asses off and refuse to give up, and yes, that it me.

Today is a beautiful day in El Paso, Texas. Sunny and fair, the high expected to be about 68 degrees with a low of 44. That's one of the great things about El Paso, the "Sun City," the beautiful weather!

Another great thing about El Paso is it's emerging music scene. There's a lot of great venues supporting the scene by giving local musicians gigs, and obviously this is extremely important, because even the biggest bands started small and locally in cities around the globe.

The El Paso scene is so ripe now, thanks to local artists, such as Sparta, At the Drive-in, The Mars Volta, Sleepercar, The Jim Ward Project, Ministry and more.

Artists like Jim Ward have done a lot lately to support the scene, such as open great venues for bands to play in, and studio's to record in.

It's nice to see El Paso musicians succeed, and even nicer to see them giving back to the community, in such a big way as people like Jim are doing, especially when it involves supporting the scene.

Kudos to Jim Ward and Gabe Gonzalez, and my personal thanks to them for making my new CD a reality at Clap of Thunder Studio!

So, El Paso bands are starting to get signed to record labels and are starting to break out of here, and that is great. As I said, the local scene in El Paso is really ripe right now, so it is a great time for local musicians and bands to step up, because timing is everything in business, particularly the music business!

And yes, I hope to be one of the next to make it out of here, and yes, I continue to work my ass off to try and make something good happen, and no, I don't give up, but rather roll with the punches and keep moving forward. With a lot of luck, and a lot more work, one of my biggest dreams in life, to be a successful musician, making a living in the music business, might even come true.
