Real Talk #1

This week, I've been chilling in Mt. Pleasant rehearsing for the Underground @ The Park concert tomorrow night, and giving me all this time to think made me realize that my life as a Central Michigan University college student was the most eventful, struggle-filled, bittersweet time of my life. I went through so much in the past few years that could have brought me real low, but with the support of the people that I met along the way and the life lessons they taught me, I never seemed to fear. Though my time at Central Michigan University has come to an end, the relationships with the people that have helped me grow will only grow stronger. My future lies in the hands of the higher power. No matter where I end up, well it be Florida or California, I will never forget the people I came up with. - Young 13izz

New Mixtape

The last 6 months have been filled with back and forth ideas with what I wanted to come out with next. Modern Day Hippie has been written for a long time, but is not fully out because I didn't anticipate the mix tape right. From that I learned: to not leak most the tape before a release date and to have all of the songs recorded and done before setting a release date.

I am excited to say that I am releasing a project that I anticipated the right way. Sure, I'm and unknown artist who is coming up. But everybody in the game was at this point at one time in their career. The trick is to keep going. To keep presenting yourself. To not let the people in society bring you down.

The Transition mix tape shows you how I am handling my transition from a kid dreaming to be a performer someday, to a young adult chasing his dream. It seems kind of cliche: writing about chasing dreams. But that's not the message. It's about getting in the mindset that you are going to make your dream your occupation. The mix tape explains my life right now. How I feel, how I act, what I do, and how I feel about what I do. I love to party. It's, what I'd say, a big part of my life. I express that in the song "Fast Life". On the contrast, I also have mixed feelings about the partying that I do, which I notice in both "I Have A Dream" and "In A Daze".

The Transition mix tape is a stepping stone for me. I'm excited to see how people can relate to my lyrics and really vibe out to what I'm saying.

Get ready!

Transition Coming 4 - 20 - 13

January 29, 2013

I have been putting at least 3 hours a day into music. Whether it's beat making, writing, or recording, I've been very busy. This summer, I'm releasing my first original album. This album I will be able to promote and sell because it will be 100% original content. The album has the theme of "Transition". That may or not be the title name but the term ties in with the entire album. I will be making a presence this year.

Things are slowing down lately because of school work. Haven't been able to work on the tape as much as I've been planning. But music never dies, the time will come.
