So, recording has taken a bit longer than I anticipated. Family ALWAYS takes precedence, as it very well should... However, progress never halted - only temporarily diverted to return to its proper track. Moving on, I posted a new song today... It's called "Prologue." It's about the beginning of my adult life, and how despite the shit we may go through in the beginning, there's always light on the other side, and that these are merely "beginnings," much like a prologue is the beginning to any story worth being told. I hope you enjoy it. :-)
So I've talked about it... and talked about it... and talked about it... and now the time has arrived! Recording has begun, and my long-awaited album will be available to the world within the next 6 months! I'll be kicking off the process with the release of the album's first single, "Skyline." There will be a video to go along with it, and I can't possibly express the full extent of my excitement!!
Keep watching the website, checking my Facebook wall posts and updates, and KEEP COMING TO SHOWS!!! I'll be sure to keep you all posted. Can't wait to show you the finished songs!!
This isn't a "new" song... I actually recorded this gem in late 2009, and wrote it back in 2002. Don't ask me why I waited until now to post it... All I can tell you is, "Here ya go! Enjoy!" :-)
This is a song I actually wrote for my sister's wedding, but seeing as it's gotten a good response from crowds I've played it for, I decided to include it in my list of regular goodies. Hope you guys and gals enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by! :-)
Being it is November, it seems fitting to express my gratitude for all the help and support that's come my way over the last year... As of recently, however, I feel especially blessed by those around me who have helped me get on my feet, musically and otherwise! In particular, my girlfriend Jenna will always be my rock when the chips are down... and my mother, Julie, has my back in everything I do, so I thank you both for being there for me... I love you both very much!
The next bit has to do with the expansion of the brand that is Marcus Lere. Wendy Shirai is an incredibly talented graphic designer and web developer. With the help of her husband, Moses, my new website is up and running! Though it is still under construction, I invite you all to take a look at it. I'm SOOOOO excited about this!! Don't forget to take a look at the new T-shirt design. The first order has been placed, so if you are interested in purchasing one, I will have them available for sale at my upcoming shows!
