Dec 10, 2012 - Winslow's Tavern was packed once again last Friday for Greenville's busiest new acoustic four-piece, Redhorse Black. The band consists of Travas Hunter on vocals, guitar, mandolin, bass and percussion; David Hayes on percussion, banjo and harmonica, Jason Bullard on guitar and vocals with William Smith (of Carolina Still fame) on percussion, guitar and vocals. The four again rolled through three sets and nearly four hours, starting with minimal personnel (Hunter and Bullard on gtrs, vox) and building to the full complement. The second set started with selections from Smith and Bullard (gtrs, vox) and then switched to reveal yet another facet of the band's talents. Hayes picked up his banjo, Hunter his mandolin and, with Bullard on guitar and Smith on percussion, they breezed through a set of bluegrass and stringband tunes, including both originals and standards. Set three was a lively mix of sing-alongs, blues tunes, stretched-out jams and the band's signature original compositions.
Join the band again soon at Winslow's, as they ring in New Year's Eve in style! Party starts at 9pm!
