ATL this Saturday, Memphis TN next week

Hey. Been working on my new record again over the last couple of weeks, after much procrastinating and waiting for a late '09 hand injury to heal. In addition to Trunk Songs-ish solo tracks, it's going to feature some truly special guests and many genre adventures. Can't wait for you to hear it! Hopefully I'll have something for you in the next update.  FEBRUARY I'm returning to Atlanta GA this Friday, February 13th, to open for Steve Forbert at the Red Light Cafe. I created a facebook event here, if you'd like to invite your friends. I'll be stopping by Charlotte NC's Evening Muse on my way home (Saturday February 14th) to sing a song or two for the Tribute to Bill Withers.  Next week, I'm headed to Memphis TN for a few days at the 22nd International Folk Alliance Conference. My Official Showcase is on Thursday, February 18th in the Chattanooga Room. I'm also playing a couple of guerilla showcases during the conference: Wednesday, 9:30 pm (Mpress Records Room 1727) and Friday,10:45 pm for a songwriters-in-the-round (FOCUS Room 1828). Looking forward to seeing friends and playing a lot of music! Public Nudity Songwriters' Night #5 at the Broad Street Cafe is also coming up on Tuesday, February 23rd. Joining me will be Caitlin Cary and Matt Douglas of The Small Ponds. Since her time as Ryan Adams' partner in Whiskeytown, Caitlin has made a name for herself with stellar solo albums and her wonderful group Tres Chicas. Her latest project is The Small Ponds - a collaboration with singer-songwriter Matt Douglas, who has been making some interesting records of his own with the Proclivities. This series has been a real pleasure so far. Thank you to everyone who has supported it! MARCH AND APRIL Not a lot booked right now - mainly focused on finishing this new Album. I do have few things cooking though. I'm visiting Greenville SC on Tuesday, March 2nd for a night with my old friend Charles Hedgepath at Smiley's Acoustic Cafe. HOBEX has just been confirmed for the Spring Shakori Hills Festival, being held April 22 - 25 2010. I will also be doing a solo set. Huzzah! Put this one on your Calendars... last Spring's festival was phenomenal. I will have set days and times confirmed soon, and April is just around the corner. Cheers, Greg
