Who is "Krooked Treez"?

Drawing its roots from a small town in Belize, Krooked Treez combines Reggae, Rap and Alterantive Rock to present a wholly unique sound that provides the backdrop for poignant lyrics about struggle, triumph and the beauty of life. Their newest single, "So In Love With California", is a smooth, sun-splashed opus capturing the beauty of southern California, the home base for Krooked Treez. (put video link here)

Founded by O Brown, a Belizean/Mexican American who first broke into the scene as a protégé of B-Real of Cypress Hill, the members of Krooked Treez were hand-picked by the MC after "Rebel", a collaboration between O Brown and Belizean Reggae & R&B singer BZ-Bwai created a tremendous buzz and a call for more work between the two artists.

This song would prove to be the catalyst that created Krooked Treez, as O Brown quickly assembled a tremendously talented & diverse roster to further explore and cultivate the sound and vibe that was created on "Rebel" and a subsequent recording with Alex Puente, who would become the drummer of Krooked Treez. O Brown and BZ-Bwai agreed to name this new venture after Crooked Tree, the small town in Belize in which O Brown draws his roots. A metaphor for his live, BZ-Bwai especially resonated with this name as he remembered a lesson from his Grandmother- nurture the seeds we plant; this is the difference between them growing up Krooked or straight.

Comprised of Bobby Zen on bass, a "California Original" who has been playing since he taught himself guitar at the age of 16, Stephen LashBZ on percussion, an artist with 15 years of experience in many east coast Reggae bands, Adam Willis on guitar, a self-taught musician that grew up playing guitar in Church, Alex Puente on drums, a professional musician and audio engineer that doubles as a television and film producer, and Paul Monico on keys, a multi-faceted artist from a musical family, Krooked Treez boasts years of experience amongst its members, whose backgrounds in diverse musical styles create a rich sound to compliment the vocal styles of O Brown and BZ-Bwai.
