New Season Preview 2009-10 !

MB has an exciting season rapidly approaching! Highlights include performances in NYC, St. Louis, Delaware, Chicago/Milwaukee area and more. The season starts off with performances in the mid-West and mid-Atlantic, followed by the release of MB's newest CD: "New York Now"; the third in our series of CD’s celebrating contemporary Manhattan based composers. The recording, on ENJA/Marsyas Records, once again features the music of Manhattan affiliated composers; this time including jazz and jazz influenced works by Leonard Bernstein, Wynton Marsalis and Paquito D’Rivera. The recording also includes one of MB’s most outrageous commissions: a sextet entitled EUPHORIA by Daniel Schnyder who joins the MB to perform the work. MB premiered EUPHORIA on our 2006 European tour.

On December 9, 2009, MB perform a program for the Lyric Chamber Music Society of NYC celebrating the release of the NY Now CD and featuring composers and works form the CD, including Daniel Schnyder & other living composers from the CD performing with MB. The MB will also be joined by International artist Bassam Saba on Oud & Nay (original lute & bamboo flutes from the Middle East).

The quintet continues it's acclaimed educational activities throughout the year and throughout the country. MB's ambitious recording plans and projects continue throughout the season as well, and another CD release is scheduled for the Fall of 2010...just in time for the holidays!

National touring will afford the MB to premiere new works across the country and also internationally as well. Overall throughout the season, the quintet will perform in IL, WI, MO, MD, DE, NY and in Europe for a 6 concert festival tour in Germany and Switzerland.

We hope to see you at one of our events...keep tuning tinto our website, Facebook, and MySpace for updates and more info!
