Life after The Black Doves

Hello Fans both old and new!

I just wanted to thank you all for joining me here on Reverbnation. As The Black Doves come to a crashing and celebratory ending, I'd like to take the opportunity to welcome you to my new solo project. This has been a 2 year project, which began as the sophomore album by TBD, and resulted in a 5 song E.P. to be released as my new solo album.

I was very fortunate to work with Bill Nieman at Rainbow Trout Studios in Spokane, Washington again and the ever-awesome Dan Conrad producing. Though it's taken a while to finish, we are INCREDIBLY proud of the result and I can't wait for you to hear the record. I was fortunate to have Sammy Hudson (formerly of Everclear) back on this album. You may or may not know, but Sammy rocked the bass tracks on 7 of the 10 songs on The Black Doves - Moments of Clarity. This time on drums, we have Joe Varela and he did an amazing job. Joe is one of those drummers that requires very little post-recording editing and that rocks. He nailed his drum parts and made it look easy. Rockstar.

We'd like you to welcome Dan Conrad back on guitar also. Dan picked up where our previous producer on Clarity left off and made it his own. What you may notice about this album is that it's consistent. We recorded it in one studio, with one producer and fine-tuned it until it was perfect in our opinion. Dan is a perfectionist which made this album so incredible. Frustrating at times, but incredible nonetheless.

Special thanks must go out to Becky Newman who did the female harmonies on Perfect. It 'made' the song and it still brings goosebumps when I hear her voice. Also, much love goes out to Keith Brown and Theodore Allison for adding their incredible keyboard and string work.

There are several other people very deserving of praise and thanks. Without them, this EP may have never been made. To Linda DiCecca, MBV, Michael Alvarez, & a few other Executive Producers whom will be noted in the liner notes of the CD.

Last but not least, I'm thankful to God and my beautiful wife Elizabeth, Connor, Collin, Hannah and Olivia for seeing me through the darkness, letting me discover gravity the hard way and then giving me a chance to pick myself up, dust off, and reach for the sky with my feet underneath me. I love you.

Thank you all for listening and making this all possible. I hope you like Discovering Gravity as much as I do. Much Love, Steve Wilson 08.28.2012
