Wasteland Kings at Mill Ends Tavern for Rose Festival

Wasteland Kings Take Unique Sound to the Rose Festival

May 16, 2012 – La Grande, Oregon: Originating in Northeast Oregon, the Wasteland Kings are gearing up for a busy summer schedule in the Pacific Northwest which includes a stop at Mill Ends Tavern in Portland, Oregon on June 2, 2012 at 9:30 PM to 12:30 PM. There will be a $5 cover at the door. The Wasteland Kings bring their unique, gritty sound of Americana that has been consistent with them since their inception in 2008. The band has put together another compilation of original songs and some crowd favorites for this performance. Mostly written by guitarist and singer, Kris Mallory, the band will stay true to their rock and blues roots, which has filled venues and festivals throughout the Northwest. Mill Ends Tavern opened their doors in April of this year. Booking agent, Monte Von Struck is welcoming a variety of musical acts to this tavern located at 833 SW Naito Parkway in Portland. His relationship with the Wasteland Kings has been one that has cultivated through the years. Von Struck met band member, Mike Mallory of the Wasteland Kings growing up in Eastern Oregon in the 1960’s. Von Struck was instrumental in booking Mallory gigs as a solo act with his booking agency. “It’s an honor to be among one of the first bands to play at Mill Ends Tavern”, says Mike Mallory. “Monte is familiar with our sound and we are really looking forward to packing his house”. Along with a busy summer schedule, the Wasteland Kings are preparing to release their second CD which will contain original work. The band is planning to release this new CD no later than October of this year. Wasteland Kings Launch Second CD Project

Eastern Oregon’s Wasteland Kings Launch Second CD Project

May 16, 2012 – La Grande, Oregon: Originating in La Grande, Oregon, the Wasteland Kings are gearing up to launch their second CD in five years and are utilizing Kickstarter to assist with the funding. Kickstarter is a web based program that provides an opportunity to raise funds for approved projects. Projects, such as the Wasteland Kings CD, are encouraged to offer a range of rewards to backers of the project but only fund if the entire requested amount is raised. There is a time limit and projects have only 30 days to get the amount requested funded or potential backers do not pay. The Wasteland Kings are requesting backers to pledge a total of $1,000 to offset the cost of the new CD. “This is a great opportunity to get our CD off to a great start by providing us with the initial start up money needed for a project like this”, says Mike Mallory of the Wasteland Kings. “It would take us much longer to complete a second CD if we had to try to come up with the money on our own.” Some of the rewards the Wasteland Kings have in place this time around are signed copies of the new CD, T-Shirts and for pledges of $100 or more; the band will host a private party specifically for those backers. For the second CD, the band has put together another compilation of original songs and some crowd favorites. Mostly written by guitarist and singer, Kris Mallory, the band will stay true to their rock and blues roots. The Wasteland Kings hope to have the new CD ready for purchase by October of this year.
