Recording and up coming gigs

Recording has been going really well up at the Faulconbridge bass camp, Ryan Collings at the dials and most pieces played live as a band. The recordings have energy, life and sound pretty impressive so far. A pause in proceedings for this weekends gig at Fairlight Folk Acoustic lounge as a fundraiser for the Northern Beaches music festival to be held in May. Ben Palumbo will join us on a few songs. looking forward to it immensely. Then on Wednesday16th we play at the Manly Boatshed with Keith Armitage's Singer songwriter night. Then back into the studio next week to try to finish the recording. A great way to spend a summer break. cheers Rosie

Mudgee, NYE and Beyond

Last Sundays' Mudgee gig was a lovely prelude to Christmas. We loaded up the truck and headed over the Mountains to the beautiful rolling hills of Mudgee for a Sunday arvo gig at the Mudgee Brewing Company. A fantastic venue where they have got the ingredients all right. A beautifully restored building with beer vats on one side, a bar at the back serving multiple varieties of beer, great food and musicians are treated very well. Thankyou Stephen Price and your team! You have a gem there in the Central West and I encourage everyone to drop in for a visit. The spectacular thunderstorm swept us back over the mountains that night and lit our way home. Now onto recording this week and some lovely gigs in January. 2013 is looking fun and exciting. Happy New Year to you all!

Central West tour-Oct long weekend

RAPT had a fantastic weekend , friday night started with an acoustic dinner gig at the Tarana pub and then over to the Tarana art show where the rain poured down on the tin roof and the art was fabulous. We later stayed outside Oberon with Fran and Tim- thanks for the hospitality! Love the O'Connell cafe's coffee on the way to Bathurst the next day . Canowindra had to cancel the gig at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, so even though disappointing ,we had a great music session and feast at Bundi -Hill End on Saturday night instead. Thanks Rick and Jill and we loved hearing Rick's songs and celebrating John's 80th birthday. A fantastic full house, with a very attentive audience gig at the Mudgee brewery topped the weekend on Sunday evening. You could hear a pin drop during Bird on the Wire and we recieved a lot of very enthusiastic comments. We'll be back as we had such a great time. Avoided the roos and feral pigs on the way back to the farm that night, yikes! Then cruised back to the City the next afternoon avoiding the long weekend traffic.Brilliant weekend! Thanks Ann and Paul ,Chris and all involved.

RAPT on the road

Ann Paul and Rosie have been travelling a bit lately, With gigs in the past few months at the the Basement, the Hornsby folk club and the Newcastle folk club, a very well received gig for the Willoughby council Mall markets a week ago and more coming up means a bit of to-ing and fro-ing from the Mountains to the sea for rehearsal. This works in well with our intention to be sociable, and stay over. Good food, great friends, catching up,playing music, and a little vino is a mighty fine thing. We are lining up a tour to the Central West- stay tuned.
