Summer, gigs, and Chicago

Hey friends, I just wanted to update you on music and the new digs here in the windy city. That's right--Heather and I have moved to Chicago this summer and are settling in well. In fact, I have a gig this Friday at the legendary FitzsGerald's on the west side of town! If you are in the greater Chicago area or know someone that will be around this week send them out to FitzsGerald's for some live singer-songwriting goodness from yours truly. FitzsGerald's is a venerable club that has been featured in films such as "The Color of Money" and "Adventures in Babysitting" among others.

Happy New Year's to all

It has been an exciting fall and winter so far. I have some new music to share with everyone. Mike West, Danny McGaw, and myself released a collaboration folk project named "Transients." We released this project on a short 250 run of vinyl. Mike and I are distributing this project ourselves. Drop me a line if you have a local record store I can ship a few copies to. In April I have the long awaited 7 inch 45 from Soapbox (myself and my eastern Kentucky musical family). In November I had the fortune of touring from Seattle to San Francisco. I had a fantastic time and got to meet some great folks. I hope to get back up in that area of the world when I can. I hope are well and doing good. Happy New Year to everyone!

Summer stint in the Bluegrass

I'm looking forward to playing a string of gigs in the homeland of Kentucky. I have a couple of gigs with my partner in crime Mr. Owen Reynolds. Then Owen and I have a couple of dates in Knoxville, TN and Berea, KY next Wednesday and Thursday with Jack Herranen at some house concerts. Saturday, July the fifth, I'll be playing at Lynagh's Irish Pub with Eric Cummins. I hope to see you out at one of the dates. Have a great summer!

Home Sweet Home

Well folks its another spring time and that means coming home for some gigs. I'll be playing the next couple of weeks around the Bluegrass. We hope to see you out at one of the stops. Soapbox will have a 7 inch vinyl coming out this summer. I had hoped to get it out for record store day, but the universe had other plans. Have a fantastic week and I hope to see you soon!

2013 release "There's No Place Like Home" goes live on itunes and available for digital purchase April 19th also! If you don't have my solo debut pick up a copy and drop me a line what you think.

Happy Belated Holiday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great holiday and looking forward to a new year. There should be several projects out this year for music. I'm excited about every one of them. What and when will stay a bit of a secret. The first one though will be a Soapbox seven inch vinyl released for record store day in April. Two brand new songs from the old musical family in the East. Have a great week everyone.

Underground Sounds and Last week's adventures

I've been playing a monthly gig at the venerable Auntie Mae's in Manhattan, KS. The evening is set up to host two other songwriters and myself. It goes on every first Tuesday of the month. I did miss this month's as I was at a songwriters camp.

I just returned from a week long songwriting intensive camp led by Darrell Scott in Nashville, TN. Wow. What an experience. The group of folks were amazing and the energy of the group was something to remember. Darrell Scott's "Songfood" workshop is well worth the time and space if you have the opportunity to attend. I look forward to a project that I have in mind this winter maybe using one of the songs that I started there.

That's all for now. I hope the year is going well and everyone had a great summer.

New Record May 23rd!

The new record will be available May 23rd. The title of the project is "There's No Place Like Home." This is my first solo release. Be sure and catch one of the shows in your area and, as always, keep on supporting live and regional music.
