As Elevated Mindz, our very aura says something about who we are as individuals – whether you are introspective, kind-natured, fun to be around, wealthy, ambitious, high-spirited etc. What does yours say about you? This doesn’t have to be a serious exercise, feel free to answer with jokes, or quirky responses, as long as they’re truthful! I’m just curious to know what people say about you!
Some of you expressed interest in buying a poster of me as depicted below. In agreement, I have decided to comply with your wishes. However, as the development of my brand continues, it has come to my attention that I am in need of a logo, especially in the case of branding the poster. As a result, I have decided to host a logo-making-contest. Third, second, and first place winners with the logo that best represent my image (with respects to the music, as well as simplicity, intrigue, and professionalism) will receive a cash prize, and the grand prize winner will also win some free merch, not to exceed $100, and a free signed poster when created. Criteria for the contest are as follows: -Submission must include either "OMA" , the fully title "One who May Ascend" or both -Key colors can be (but do not necessarily need to include) black, white, gray, and red. -ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED to firstname.lastname@example.org with title "OMA Logo Submission" & name BY 9 PM SUNDAY, JUNE 29TH, 2014. Winners will be announced the following day.
In efforts to broaden my horizons, and generate ideas for new music, I’ve decided to undertake the task of listening to fifty projects in fifty days. Recommend me fifty of your favorite classic projects - whether official albums, mix-tapes, EP, LP, new, old, mainstream, underground, hip-hop, alternative genres, or things that you just feel I should be familiar with – what are your top 50 projects? Five recommendations for each person.
Everybody represents something, and as I grow and develop as an artist, it is up to me to decide what I stand for.
It was proposed to me that I need a "Rap Crew" name, a clique, or a brand name to show what I represent. After a little brainstorming, I became fond of the idea. From the classic Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Wu-Tang Clan, NWA, A Tribe Called Quest, D-12, Black Sheep, De La Soul, Black Street, The Jungle Brothers, Das EFX, Lords of the Underground, Public Enemy's "S1W's", Biggie's "Junior M.A.F.I.A.", Jay-Z's "The Roc", EPMD's "The Hit Squad", Nas' "Queensbridge Militia", Ja Rule's "Murder Inc.", DMX's "Ruff Riders", 50 cent's "G-Unit", Black Moon, The Universal Zulu Nation, The Native Tongues, The Juice Crew, to New School's Cash Money Millionaires, Lil Wayne's "Young Money", Soulja Boy Tell 'em, DJ Khaled's "We The Best", Wiz Khalifa's "Taylor Gang", Tyler the Creator's "Wolf Gang"...etc. The list goes on.
So the question is:
What would be a good "Rap Crew" brand name that would give an accurate description of what we represent?
I've been categorized as less of a mainstream artist and more of an underground artist, so my question is what constitutes underground rap? How is it to be defined and who and what are some current, well-known artists and tracks classified as underground?
Also: are there other genres of music that can classify as underground? If so, what? Name some artists/tracks.
Now you've heard them both.
How did you like OMA: Ascending and Breaking Even? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Improvements? New ideas for me to try? What are you favorite and least favorite parts from each?

Some fans of mine tell me that my style is changing. I say that life is a process in which growth, development & change are inseparable. As I change as a person it only makes sense that my music - influenced from the heart - changes as well. Does it not?
I've been told on numerous occasions that I need to broaden my horizons. Ironically, I don't set time aside to explore new music, which would be beneficial in my upcoming collaboration with the Corpus Christi rock group, The Fallen. Does anybody have any suggestions for me?
Lately I’ve been wondering…do my more recent songs (like Psychic Hotline and No Laughing Matter) make me sound like a Slim Shady wanna be? Give me your honest opinion. Open for discussion.
