For those of you who have been asking about original music we are working on two tunes at present, entitled "Dandy" and "Rise Above". We will be posting them here soon, but if you just can't wait come see us debut these songs live August 24th at the Oyster Bar in Cheraw, SC. It's going to be a great time! Hope to see you there!
DHK spent last practice paying homage to our roots with the addition of several classic blues tunes in our set list. So next time you see us, keep your ears open for some Muddy Waters, and some Willie Dixon tribute songs. P.S. Be on the lookout for a brand new original from DHK, coming soon.
Just want to let all you hipsters know that we have 3 more original tunes in the works, having put down some basic tracks on each one yesterday. Well, it's been about a week since we last played at the new Froggy's Rack Shack. We had some fun that night as well as some recording so keep an eye out for us to post some of that show. Have some new original pieces in the works, and hope to be posting some demos of those soon. More DHK on the way. Stay Tuned./
They say Friday the 13th is a bad luck day, but I would have to say it's going to be a great evening for the Kings as we head down to 2nd Street in Cheraw for an evening of fun and revelry at the Rack Shack. Serendipity will be on deck at 5:30 or so, and if you haven't seen these kids you are in for a treat. Check out their page right here on Reverbnation. There will also be some surprise guests who will be playing after Serendipity. The Doghouse Kings should be getting onstage right about 9 pm or so, it's going to be a blast, looking forward to seeing you all there.
I ran into Russ "The Kid" Wallace the other day. If you have not heard the Kid you should really check him out here on Reverbnation. he is a very talented performer and writer and has done some collaborative work with Funky Peanut Butter Jam in the past. Hopefully the Kid will be working with the Kings on some surprises, and may be appearing with us at some upcoming shows. Let's cross our fingers. Also, it's not official yet, but we may be performing at the Watermelon Festival in Pageland this month. See you on the street. -Kris
