Submitted to the Independent Music Awards+First EP release date!

So after a busy show schedule up through now, we're scaling back from playing shows because we are in the process of recording our first EP as a band that's going to be titled "Stay Tall" (to fit with the title track that is also going to be a single). We're starting the recording process this coming thursday, and our goal is to be done with the entire EP and ready to release by the end of 2012!

On another note, we submitted our recording of "Jump" by Van Halen to the Independent Music Awards in the category of best cover song! We know it may be a long shot, but if we even get nominated as one of the 5 finalists will be a HUGE accomplishment!

We'll keep you up to date on what things are going down next for us in the next coming months.

Stay tall, Tall Boys Band

Tall Boys were selected to go play in California!

A while ago, we sent out a bunch of submissions here on Reverbnation to festivals around the country to see if any of the festivals would have the faith in our act to allow us to come showcase our music (being a fairly new band, we didn't have high expectations for these applications). Turns out, our submission was accepted to go play at the Interfusion Music Summit in California!! Sadly, the cost of getting across the country from MA to CA is a little excessive for us, so we will not be able to attend the summit and play! We greatly appreciate the recognition however, and will try to play at the event next year! Be sure to keep an eye on our concert schedule coming up, because even though we're recording our first album next month we are in fact still playing shows all over MA!

Original EP going to be recorded in September!

Hey there everyone! We hope that you all are having a great summer, and we hope that you've been following the Tall Boys action that has been keeping us busy so far this summer! We've played in Somerville MA, Lowell MA, Keene NH, Holliston MA, and the list of towns that the Tall Boys have played in will only continue to grow as the days go by! We just received word yesterday that we are going to be able to record our first EP of original music starting this September coming up next month, so we are excited to share our awesome originals with you all! Be sure to keep on the lookout for once that gets released, and in the meantime be sure to check out our concert schedule to try and come out to a gig and check us out!

Summer concert "tour" lining up!

The summer concert schedule is turning into a small "tour" of sorts, and there are more shows to be scheduled! With now 11 or 12 shows already booked between July and September, the word about the Tall Boys is surely going to get out, and it's going to get out fast!

We've primarily focused on rock covers up until this point, but we've had some rock originals already written and waiting to be unleashed in a set list, so those are going to slowly but surely be brought to the forefront for setlists! There's also a festival in NYC in late September that we applied to be one of the bands that, so we should be hearing back from the organization that runs it about hopefully giving us the ok to be a part of the day's events!

Stay tuned for more details and updates about the Tall Boys, as we will be periodically posting blog updates like this on reverbnation!

Stay Tall everyone.....

Getting our band's name out there

Hey there everyone! The Tall Boys are fully functional and booking gigs left and right for the summer! We now have a press kit here on Reverb Nation, business cards on the way, t-shirt designs being created, etc. We may have 7 shows on the books thus far starting in July, but we hope that our demo will help us get more! We will keep on posting blog updates periodically here on Reverb Nation, so stay tuned for more postings!

Stay Tall everyone...
