Tomorrow we are finally releasing new material!!! The last year or so has been full of adventure and learning experiences. We are very proud that we were able to record it ourselves at Jake’s house. Thank you to Zach for mixing and thank you to Hirsh for mastering (both for the second project in a row). Thanks to everyone for both supporting us in our year off, as well as pushing us all to get back in the same room to make more music. Yesterday we played for the first time in about 8 months. It was great to dive into some new stuff and kick the dust off some old ones. Hoping you enjoy the new single "Brass Tacks" tomorrow. Be on the lookout for another song to be released in July.
We are very excited to finally be releasing new material in the coming weeks. Many of the songs are finished, while others are still in the mastering process. They will be available very soon. We can’t wait to share them all with you.
Things are really starting to heat up on all things Duty Free. We are excited to announce the formation of Duty Free Entertainment. An offshoot of Duty Free, the organizations mission is to provide quality entertainment for both charity benefits and private events. Duty Free Entertainment’s first production is now scheduled for this October 9th to raise money for the ALS Association New England Chapter. This event will have more details coming soon. Please check www.facebook.com/DutyFreeEntertainment for more information.
Greetings from the Duty Free World!
We thought it was about time that we reach out and address what we have been up to over the last 18 months. We all have seen several changes while we have been off from playing shows. This past year we have welcomed new babies to the families, new houses, surgeries and even marriage proposals. These life changes have affected all of us in many different ways and we are excited to see how it will inspire the music. It’s been quite a ride to say the least.
Although we have not played a show in quite a while, we have been very productive. We are almost finished our new album (look for release dates soon). This album has been the most challenging one we have done so far because we decided to record it ourselves. We are very excited to show off some new tunes very soon. We have also written and recorded many others that we hope to release this year. The plan for this Spring is to start releasing material and have it carry on throughout the Summer. We are dedicated to resume playing together and see what this next year brings. (Hopefully more shows).
Thanks to all our friends, families and fans for both the unconditional support, as well as the continued patience. WE ARE BACK!
New release dates coming soon!!!!!!
It's good to back on Reverbnation. We drifted away for a while, but now we're back with our new music, pictures and videos. Gigs for the summer and fall are starting to line up, so stay tuned for all our new show dates and times. We've had a great response since we've been back, so visit early and often; new media is being updated daily.
Greetings from Duty Free,
Now this is exciting, our first blog! Well, after almost six years, we are finally taking our first break in order to get refreshed and write some new tunes. I just want to take the time to say thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years (you know who you are, too many to name). From the dirty basements of UNH frat houses and midnight shows at the Charles Playhouse to the Amsterjam Festival and CBGB's in New York City. The dedication from all of you have really kept us going. As you may have noticed, the line-up has changed a little bit over the last year. We would like to welcome Jake on the drums (World's Collide, Blackbelt), Timmy on keys (The Cling, Nikolydon) and Eric S. on keys as well (Funkfoot). Their new input in this band has been phenomenal, and really brought a new energy to this band. Our new album is out, (finally) and we hope you all buy it. Its got some new tunes and some old favorites as well. I also want to give mad props to the contribution of two former Duty Free members Eric Boulter and Tom Benson. You can check out Eric's new project The Ghost Dinner Band on (myspace.com) as we wish him the very best in the future. Anyone seen Tommy? We will be starting a "Where's Tommy" site where people can take random cell phone picts and log Tommy sightings where ever they may see him (i think he's hiding with Waldo). Anyway, we will be back. Hope to see most of you in Keene, NH for Pumpkinfest 08 or in Dover for the Kelley's Row show in November. Until then.......
