On May 7th will be the official release of my single, "Barfly". What makes this special is my song will debut on Renegade Radio in Nashville! I will also be in the studio to talk about the song. Thank you everybody for the amazing support and please request "Barfly" to your favorite radio station and buy it on iTunes! Love you all!
Finishing up the guitar parts for the first release on the new album, "Barfly". I'm very excited to release it to the public and radio in the next couple weeks! I am also extremely happy and thankful to the people that put in the work and time to make the songs great. Thank you to Eric Douglas, Alyssa Kupka, Chad Chopard, Tommy Bruner, and Tracy Dekoter. There will be more people to thank at the end of this project but these people sacrificed time and energy and I am very thankful to you. If you want to hear the new release, come to a show!
Playing my first shows in Minneapolis/St. Paul tomorrow and Saturday. Looking forward to the experience, the people and the atmosphere! Also taking pictures on Saturday for the upcoming album and hope those turn out alright. Just need a haircut now. :)
Very excited to be hitting the road to play music! I never would have dreamed that venues from other states would invite me to play music. My manager Tracy Dekoter is amazing. Very blessed to have family, friends and music in my life. Very excited for 2013 and the events to come!!!
It's beginning! As a musician working full time at your craft, you always have that small doubt in the back of your mind... Will I continue to be able to "afford stuff". You think about it when you grab a coffee filter in the morning, will I be able to buy more of these? It was a feeling that always lingered. So many shows coming up has really sparked my drive and the feeling of affording coffee filters is getting smaller by the day. The one thing that I always have in my mind and heart is... put your life in the Lord's hands. Put full faith in him and your life will be changed.
We have an amazing summer schedule and it's just getting better by the day. We opened for Alan Jackson, Phil Vassar and Joe Nichols... so far. This Friday we open for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and then on July 21st, it's Dierks Bentley and my all time favorite... EMERSON DRIVE!!! Pretty excited about it, my son's name being Emerson and all. :)
I am finding it difficult to be more proactive. Because I am being lazy, not because I am worried about stepping on some toes along the way. I have stepped on toes in the past and it's served me well in the long run because by stepping on those toes, you eliminate the ones that hold you back. For the first time ever I don't have to worry about that... And it feels phenomenal. Now to work on laziness....
I am thankful for my family, friends/band mates! Focusing on music and spending time with the people that matter in my life is what "Living Well" is all about. Money is money... things are things... Family/Friends/Music is living well...
I came to the conclusion over the past month that besides my family and friends... Music is the only thing I am really passionate about. God has blessed me with great bandmates/friends and the gift of playing music. I have been writing for a number of years but haven't really thought about sharing my music until now. It was like the missing piece to the puzzle when I finally thought... yes... This is all I want to do.
