Trying to get Shut Up And Color voted for best band name for the month of April on Gorilla Music's Best Band Name contest. You can vote twice a day and we're currently in third place. Help us put this away!!
It's shaping up to be a great spring. We've got gigs at Shamrock's on March 16th and April 5th, not to mention a Battle of the Bands coming up on April 22nd at Sokol Underground. We'll have tickets for the BotB, so hit us up before they're all gone!
The gig on the 16th is shaping up nicely. Come check us out with Flying Kards (cd release) and Stonebelly! We might even have some goodies for you if you're there. Don't miss it!
Unfortunately, due to some personal reasons, we had to bow out of the Side Door Lounge gig on March 15th, but have not fear faithful fans, Shut Up And Color will be playing on March 16th with The Flying Kards for their unofficial cd release party at Shamrock's. Come on out for St. Paddy's Eve and celebrate with The Flying Kards, Shut Up And Color, and some lucky bands to be named later. I hear that The Colonel will even be wearing some Shamrock shades for the set. You'll have to be there to see it for yourself.
So, it's semi-official. We'll be playing the Side Door Lounge on 15 March. There might even be a special guest or 2 in the mix. Stay tuned for details.
The Reverend Steve here. Thought I would share some poetry with you. This is an oldie but a goodie:
Goodbye blue windows It’s time for me to go Time to draw the shades Time to turn out the lights Goodbye blue windows This old life’s beat me down This old world’s cast me aside Goodbye blue windows Time to head down the road Don’t know when I’m coming home Goodbye blue windows Once we had it all Once we had it made Now I’m just sitting here Tears staining my pillow Goodbye blue windows Goodbye old friend Until we meet again Some time down the road Some way in this life Goodbye blue windows Goodbye my friend
So we did some great work at practice last night. One of the new songs we're working on (Begin Again) is almost complete. Work on 'Drown' still continues. At least one of the new songs will be premiered at our show on Feb 23 at Shamrock's Pub & Grill.
Shut Up and Be There!
Just talked to Nathan at Shamrocks Pub and Grill and we will be playing on 23 Feb with Brian Alexander. Show starts at 8pm, 21 and over.
See you there Shut Up And Color fans!!!
So practice last night was amazing as always. We worked on a new song called 'Drown.' It's probably the most complex song we've worked on so far, but it promises to be epic.
Stay tuned for more updates.
