Hey you! Just a quick write to let you all know that I just uploaded my newly released song called "Turn the Page!" I recorded it in my home studio not too long ago and wanted to share it with you!
This is my first effort since the release of my second full-length CD entitled "New Territory."
Hope you like it and let me know your thoughts!
Hey you! I know it’s a bit of a late notice, but my new album “New Territory” is available for digital download right now! You can get it here: CDbaby.com, itunes, or Amazon.com. If you'd like to preview the album - it's on Spotify as well.
This whole album was recorded in my home studio! Let me know what you think of the album and which songs are your favorites!
Also, if you could, would you be so kind as to give my Facebook page a like here? Facebook.com/kristyleeburky and spread the word about my music!
I’m also excited to announce that I have the opportunity to play in Nashville, TN at the end of this month! It’s pretty much a dream come true!
Before I head out to Nashville, I’ll be playing @ The Front Porch Cafe in Hartville, OH May 13th with Dustin Mayle opening up the night. I hope to see you there! If not, enjoy the streams and downloads of my new album and as always, thanks so much for all of your support! It’s so nice to get good feedback from you!:)
Hello everyone! I hope this Valentine’s Day weekend you know that you are deeply loved.
I wanted to let you all know that I have finished recording my new album as of yesterday! I am very excited and relieved to have this process done. So, it’s moving on to the next stage. What is that? Well, I will make sure all ten songs on this album are mastered accordingly and then it will probably be up for digital download first and foremost at all of those popular digital sites like cdbaby.com, itunes, and Amazon when it is finally finished. When?!? you ask. Not entirely sure. It could be very very soon. So, keep checking back for notification of that release date. You can also like my FB page here: http://www.facebook.com/kristyleeburky to keep up with show dates, news, etc.
This record I’m calling “New Territory,” because it’s unlike anything else I’ve ever done before. It’s got a little bit of everything on it; something for everyone. Also, because I recorded this whole CD all on my own at my studio (my house), it has proved to be one of the most difficult things I have ever done. Much like how charting new territory can prove to be really challenging. I also figured the title was a good follow up to my previous EP “Past Beginnings,” and first full-length album, “Pushing Forward.”
It definitely fits with where I’m at in life, sort of this eclectic mix of music that is a little bit of everything that I like. Right now at this stage of life, I find myself becoming more and more content with relying on God for my future and present security, which has led me to giving 5 students guitar lessons and playing minimal shows. Don’t worry. I’m going to try and add more shows soon. But, for now my next show and only currently scheduled one is at the Front Porch Cafe in Hartville, OH on Friday, February 19th from 6pm-7:30pm and I’ll be going on after Dustin Mayle takes front and center.
So, as I said before, stay tuned, get excited, and look for an update from me soon for the release date of “New Territory!”
This was my stream of consciousness last night. Sometimes I want to know I am enough- that I measure up. I want my life to mean something. To know that it wasn't all for nothing. Thinking about death at 31. Will I still have a father or will I have a son? Birthdays cause me to reflect on life..what I did; was it wrong or right? Cuz I don't want the light to grow dim inside my soul that used to burn so bright. I've always felt set aside for something...a purpose, a goal, that race I'm still running. B/c I so desperately want to cross the finish line with air still in my lungs. Thinking about death at 31. What will they say about me and what I've done? Did I leave a bandage or a scar on you? Birthdays cause me to reflect on life. The past, present, and future tense. Did I cause tension or was it prevention? Thinking about death at 31 makes me think about life. [unedited] There you have it.
Hey you! I wanted to take some time out and thank you for being a part of what keeps me going as an artist....yes you, who are reading this! I have sold almost 200 CD's since the release of "Pushing Forward" this past June. And, that's without touring and headlining much at shows. Thanks to each and every one of you who either bought a hard copy or downloaded my album on itunes or cdbaby.com. You have helped me reach many of my musical goals this year such as #1) Releasing a full-length CD #2) Not only reaching 1,000 people in my network but exceeding that goal #3) I've played the most gigs I have this year than ANY previous year! [I'm guessing somewhere around 55 if not more] Lastly, today is the final day to take advantage of ordering my CD with shipping at just one cent for any amount of hard copies you order @ www.cdbaby.com/kristyleeburky Also, if you could, can you give my facebook page a like found here? www.facebook.com/kristyleeburky Thanks so much for reading this and for taking an interest in me as an artist! I hope this time of year is unstressful and that you are able to spend it with loved ones while still counting your blessings! Peace, Kristy
Hi there! It has been such a gift from God to be able to get a gig playing regularly @ Potbelly Sandwich Shop at Belden Village in Canton, OH 3x a week during the lunch hrs! I'm more background music to be enjoyed while enjoying a sandwich or soup, but people have been very generous with their tips lately and it's been a way that God has been providing for Seth and I after my worker's compensation case from my last job did not end up how we thought. I left that job even in the midst of the case going underway and it took 7 whole months for my injury at work to come to resolution finding out that I would not be compensated for my lost wages and that we would be stuck with the medical bill of my physical therapy. And, yes what makes this even harder is that I worked in a program that was held in a Christian megachurch. However upsetting that situation was and has been, God has given Seth and I continued peace about how we handled this circumstance. It's just proof that God is always in control and we have to trust him even though we may not understand how he is working. So, when I was not even looking for another job, God presented me with an opportunity to get paid part-time doing what I love, which is to play music! God is good all the time. Also, I have at least 6 shows booked outside of working at Potbelly for the month of October. I will be busy, busy, busy! I also have 3 songs that I'm in the midst of writing which I need to complete! It's a challenge! :p So, thank-you....yes YOU for reading this blog, for being a fan in someway, for liking my facebook page, etc. Remember you can stream my new album called "Pushing Forward" for FREE on spotify! And, if you like what you hear, please support me by downloading the mp3's from cdbaby.com It is hard to make any progress or income in this industry without support from fans like you! Thanks again!
Hi Everyone! I would like to announce the digital release of my first full-length album called "Pushing Forward!" It's finally here and I hope you all enjoy it very much. You can download it here: cdbaby.com/pushingforward or you can get it on itunes under Kristy Lee Burky...just search for Pushing Forward! I hope you enjoy the tunes as much as I do! It is light years ahead of my previous acoustic ep and it has a full-band sound. Plus there is something for everyone on this record! So, go NOW and give it a listen! I would appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!
Greetings this holiday season! If you are wondering how the recording/producing process is going for my upcoming full-length cd to be released some time in 2014 then read on!
Here is where we are at: 3 songs are completely done, meaning recorded, mixed, and mastered! Woot! YEAH! 3 other songs have acoustic guitar and vocals completed! Paul will add other instruments as we both see fit and then mix and master those (Mostly all of the songs on the record are going to have a full band sound with more instruments). That's 6 songs I've mentioned so far, which leaves us with the remaining 4. On 1 of those songs I pretty much just need to nail the vocals, which is what I'm going to work on NEXT! 1 song needs to be completely recorded, but it is all the way written. And, the last 2 are still going through the writing/recording process....more like co-writing which Paul and I are getting good at! :) Smiles all around.
This full-length bears much excitement for me. I'm proud of what's been done so far and cannot wait to finish it and get it out for all of your listening ears! Be patient along with me b/c it's been a long process as this is not Paul's nor my full-time job. ;)
Paul is a joy to work with and I hope to capture at least a little bit of video of SOMETHING before this process is over. I know I really need to get on youtube. I just don't have an adequate video camera.
If you have any video or photos of me whatsoever, from any show then by all means feel free to email them to me or message me on my facebook page. Be sure to give my fb page a like as well as follow me on twitter!
Thanks for your support in 2013 and here's to hoping 2014 will bring more amazing music!
Remember to leave the harbor every once in a while as you can't stay docked forever.
Hi Everyone! Just a quick write to let you all know that I only have 5 hard copies of my acoustic ep "Past Beginnings" left in my possession, which is a good thing! But, if you want a copy, either let me know or you can go here and order one www.cdbaby.com/kristylee12 or you can download it at the same site! It's also available to download on itunes or to stream for free on spotify! Thanks for all of your recent support. Know that I am working hard with my co-producer on an upcoming full-length cd, which we are very excited about. Brick by brick, right?!? I hope you all are well and that you all have hope. ;) Until next time...share your story. Everyone's got one.
