RT Carter (ASCAP) (International Folk Alliance) / Blog

Ok, maybe I haven't reached my saturation point

Got to say,,,,I hear at least 100 different musical artist,,,,every week...groups and people I would never know existed. I would say the majority are good to amazingly good. Really, it's very humbling and enlightening. I particularly enjoy the amazing songs that people come up with. Anyhow, not near my saturation point, still searching.

How many bands are there??

I think I have reached a satuation point. I guessing there are at least 500,000 bands in the U.S. alone. Good bands, interesting and dynamic bands, original styles, original songs, original originals. When does it end? I have to say, I am I love with RN, Wow, who would have thought so many groups existed. That my first blog. Thank you.

That's a good start, RT .... this site is quite amazing all in itself just from a networking point of view. Have met some incredible folks and heard music that was unavailable not the long ago.

I'm with you on this, Bob. I co-ran a song competition for West Coast Songwriters in Sebastopol Ca for 8 years. Just from that little area, there was a steady stream of talented musicians. If you're thinking competition, it's overwhelming. If you're thinking music, it's a glorious discovery.
