Celtic Roots Radio

Just in time for St. Paddy's Day- I was notified that my song, "In Love with You Before" will be included in the playlist of Celtic Roots Radio.

They are located in Belfast, Northern Ireland and feature internet streaming and various podcasts in over 90 different countries.

I'm very excited about being included in their program.

The song "In Love with You Before" has an Appalachian sound- Scott's clawhammer banjo style reflects the Celtic roots of American Appalachian music.

The song is about finding a psychic connection with someone even at first meeting. I think alot of people can relate to this- I have experienced it many times.

I know my grandmother, Lillian (Hickey) Fosnaught would be proud of me. Grandma Fosnaught was a devout Catholic- there was always a sense of Celtic mysticism about her though.

Two of my cousins, both of whom have sharp psychic abilities, and I have talked about experiences we've had involving eerie synchronicities.

Grandpa Clarence "Fossie" Fosnaught used to sing Irish songs. My uncles sing beautifully. Everyone in the family would sing.

So, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Joe, and Aunt Sara, listening from above, and all of the Fosnaughts here on Earth, this one's for you!

recording session- scratch tracks

Scott and I just recorded scratch tracks for four new songs: Living in the Present, A Beautiful World, Famous Rock Star, and Lights, Camera, Fire! I am very excited about our new project, "Transformation."

What beautiful day- perfect weather and after a hike with the dogs on the C&O Canal tow path we came home to do some recording.

We used Dr. Rhythm as a metronome and it sounded like "the sky is falling, the sky is falling!" boom, boom, boom, crash! boom boom boom crash!

The more annoying the metronome became, the calmer my voice became. I'm hoping to capture the feeling of calmness and peace while there is chaos all around. That may be the idea behind my new album.

Scott and I made the decision to forego performances this spring and finish our recording project; It has been a long time in the making, and it's high time to get this thing in the can.

I would dearly love to be performing, and have turned down some very nice offers from friends in order to record. In addition to being musicians, Scott and I both have very demanding careers. I have come to realize that there is just not enough time to record as well as perform and maintain sanity.

One very exciting adventure I have embarked upon is co-writing with Joey Welz. Joey played piano with Bill Haley's Comets for over 30 years. We hooked up at the Millennium Music Conference in February and he liked my song, Famous Rock Star.

He decided to put his own spin on it and recorded it for his next album. I love what he did with it. It has a bit of a Nashville feel to it. Wow! What an honor to be co-writing with Joey Welz from Bill Haley's Comets!

My next blog will be about the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg PA. I highly recommend it to friends. Scott and I had a blast!

Enough for now- have a lovely week as we spring forward in this beautiful, transformational year 2012!

Who do you sound like?

Back for a quick blog entry- I'm on a full size computer now. A quick thought: I'm having fun playing around with this reverbnation site. Very cool so far.

One question I'm struggling with:

They ask, "Who do you sound like." Name five artists ( something like that.) I keep blowing that one off. Scott suggested I name an opera singer, a folk singer, a rock singer, a pop singer, and a soul singer. That's my background. I'm a blend.

I know the intentions of the question are in my best interest. Somehow I just don't want to answer that question. People used to tell me I looked like Stevie Nicks since I had long curly hair. Also Bonnie Raitt. I consider those comparisons wonderful compliments! I just don't know who to say I sound like. I'll keep thinking on this one and eventually fill in the blanks on this website.

Best wishes to all- Have a beautiful day. Dreaming of spring!

Now this is cool! Blogging is something I am very interested in. I look forward to doing some writing on this site. I'm using an android at this time so I'll continue when I get my hands on a standard size keyboard. Be well, all!
